Droitwich Lions Club 9

From the early days we have enjoyed some good support from this local supermarket. Originally built as Presto...who invited us for a pre opening of the store through to when it was Safeways and finally Morrisons. We ran a couple of trolley dash fund raisers with the winner given 2 minutes ( I think it was to fill their trolley) Booze was not allowed and there was a limit on how much meat but the winner still did pretty well and we raised quite a bit of money!

I have some problems to understand the context (it doesn't matter, but I see it is a good charity activity to support poor people.
Bill Phillips: We sold tickets to people and the winning ticket got to rush around the supermarket with her trolley getting as much in it as she could for free!

Sounds like good rules, I wonder if I could convince Ingrid. 2 mins shopping, no booze and a limit on meat. Sounds like a bargain!
Bill Phillips: In your dreams Mike
What a great idea, Bill. Everyone wins.
Bill Phillips: It's the best way Pauline
This must have been great fun Bill!
Bill Phillips: It was Richard.
The couple look very pleased.
Bill Phillips: It was the lady who won. The bloke was one of the lions!

This aisle would have suited me; a trolley full of cakes and crisps - nirvana!
Bill Phillips: Soul food Alan
wow..safeways! fantastic Bill!
Bill Phillips: It is now a Morrisons Ronky
I believe there used to be an American TV program where the contestants would do this, Bill. Not sure if there were restrictions on meat though.

Great way to raise funds.
Bill Phillips: I believe it was on here too Beverly
Some of the Asda's and Tesco's round our way are so big one would hardly finish one aisle in two minutes.
Bill Phillips: We have the benefit of this store being quite small Brian
Have you thought about a walk from Droitwich to Lands End and back to raise some money,I would pay good money to see you do that.
Bill Phillips: You wouldn't pay enough though
