Droitwich Lions Club 5

Ten years on!

I am not posting these in any particular order. From the early days Ange kept a scrapbook. This one is interesting to me because 5 of the "past Presidents" in this picture are charter members who are still members of the club. Sadly Joe Rothwell on the far right passed away some years ago. He was a lovely man who with his wife Pat held a Burns night at their house for many years. Pat made the finest Cock-a-leekie soup I have ever tasted.

Oh, and yes it is me on the left....in the days when I was thinner!

a very fine, proper group of helpful, charing men- but where are the ladies? - oh, they are working in the background as I read ... I recognized you at once!
Bill Phillips: In those days membership of Lions was men only Philine. Times have changed
Almost 20 years since then, Bill, if my math is right!
Bill Phillips: Go to the top of the class Ginnie smile I have still got that jumper.....it has long since been too small!
I did recognise you immediately young Bill!

You seem so much younger, not surprisingly Bill but, were you desperate for the toilet?

I thought that these may all have been Chairmen at some point. 20 years eh? I bet it doesn't seem like it.
Bill Phillips: In some ways it is like a different life and in others like yesterday!
I spotted you without zooming in; although the cigarette confused me. It's nearly three years off the smokes, for me - so much better! smile
Bill Phillips: I stopped nearly 13 years ago. Best thing I ever did!
Bill, a ciggie in hand? Glad you stopped. I've reached 1 year and 2 months now after many years of smoking.
Recognised you immediately, you haven't changed all that much!
Bill Phillips: I stopped nearly 13 years ago. I'm heavier and greyer but no wiser
A fine set of Gentlemen
Bill Phillips: They aren't a bad bunch Ronky smile
It must be the great and good of Droitwich!
Bill Phillips: Hahaha I wouldn't go that far Suzanne
I think you were wanting to go pee. Thirteen years for you - eight for me.
Bill Phillips: I probably was Mary grin Well done. Makes you wonder why we ever started!

I would recognise you anywhere, Bill
Bill Phillips: It's that look of bemused insanity isn't it?
A motley crew! smile
Bill Phillips: Charming!! smile
So you would have been creeping into your 40's at that time Bill, all seems a long time ago doesn't it, but you have some fine memories at least.
Bill Phillips: This would have been in June so I would have just turned 45 Brian
