Great shot and for me it looks okay too. I hope nobody needed to be rescued.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Lady P. Nobody fell in as I recall!

Do you mean: in colour? I see it is a very busy place full of actions. Lol at Astrid.
Bill Phillips: No on the Flickr site. The same picture but much clearer
You know me, Bill...I would have been there!
Bill Phillips: You would have seen enough narrowboats to last you for a while Ginnie!

What's going on there bill ?? ......shot looks fine to me smile
Bill Phillips: It was the reopening of the canal after about 40 years of work and fundraising. I have never seen so many narrowboats in one place!

No.. still looks to be B&W there, too. THose stofdd up in Rescue 9 may need to be rescued themselves; they would be better sitting down.. on the grass.. with a glass of something... and a cake
Bill Phillips: Indeed they would. I was disappointed that even when I put it on 500px it was still b&w

Lovely picture Bill - I must say I prefer it to mine today.

I will pop over to flickr.
Bill Phillips: Praise indeed!

I think you have the 'ruin my picture' option permanently set.
Bill Phillips: That is a bit unkind
Shots on Flickr certainly are much better.
Bill Phillips: They do seem to be Mary
I agree with Chad.
Bill Phillips: What a surprise
It does indeed Bill! I love these narrow boats!
Bill Phillips: They are very colourful Richard....ohgrin

I switched back and forth, but can't say which one is best. On SC the black is blacker, etc. On Flickr the image is much bigger and should be more clear.

One thing I have always longed for on SC is the option of a grey background. Grey just sets the pictures off, better.
Bill Phillips: I agree about the grey background Louis

Most photo sharing sites have an element of compression in them; some more than others. The best I've found is
Bill Phillips: I have put this on 500px just to see;
Presumably the two guys in diving gear are the H.& S.contingent without which no 'normal' event could even take place. It does look clearer on the Flickr version.
Bill Phillips: Just in case someone fell in. I don't think anyone did
I love you really.
Bill Phillips: How do you treat people you don't like ? gringringringrin
Just seems to be a bit sharper on Flickr, Bill. Still, on either site, it's a great shot.
Bill Phillips: Thank you very much Beverly
