Chadfest

However even the Presence of M Shaw was overshadowed by the appearence of the great man himself at the festival that bears his name. Such is the esteem that he has generated within the town, there is even a movement to rename the town Chadwich Spa, and to replace the statue of St Richard de Wych with one of St Guteridge de Spout

You can tell its Chad by the footwear, Bill
Bill Phillips: and the fact that he only has 4 fingers and no thumb....which explains a lot of his pictures

I have often felt that Chad's genious has been somewhat overlooked and he needs a form of greater glory

In that spirit I think renaming your town Chadwich is a fine & noble thing.
Bill Phillips: I have always overlooked it.

Do I understand that both Chad and M Shaw are in this suit??? Sounds like fun.
This man is not able to count to ten......
Bill Phillips: No only Chad. He has grown since you last saw him and would not now fit in your lovely little car

This is interesting - and I had to google about St. Chad of Mercia:

"The Spa Research Fellowship states that Chad is the patron saint of medicinal springs,

St. Chad's Day (2 March) is traditionally considered the most propitious day to sow broad beans in England.
Chad (Old English: Ceadda; died 2 March 672) was a prominent 7th century Anglo-Saxon churchman, who became abbot of several monasteries, Bishop of the Northumbrians and subsequently Bishop of the Mercians and Lindsey People. He was later canonised as a saint. He was the brother of Cedd, also a saint. He features strongly in the work of Bede the Venerable and is credited, together with Cedd, with introducing Christianity to the Mercian kingdom."

Oh, now I understand why it is so often raining in Chadwich! Andrew Chadwich Doveton is the full name of this saint.
Bill Phillips: You will be interested to see St Chad's cathedral in Birmingham. It is often forgotten that Birmingham has two cathedrals

Wonders like this will never cease, Bill, as long as the others are in your life to make things "difficult?!"
Bill Phillips: I spend most of my time totally unaware of what is going on.

A legend in his own lunchtime and the town should be honoured with such a visit. Is the lamp post just temporary? It seems to be on a little base so it can be moved to different locations?
Bill Phillips: Do you know, until you mentioned that I had never noticed. I will have to check to see if it is still there

Love factology by Philine. And then the brilliant idea of Chadwich, although I would prefer Chadville. There could be one Yellowbear street, Tiffany's is where you could buy bacon butties, etc.
Bill Phillips: It has to be Wych as this is the ancient name of the town and is found in other names in the area, like Wychbold. Philine is our own Wikipedia
I would have retouched the tie as well, Bill
Bill Phillips: The tie is just so Chad
grin Great sport Bill! First good laugh of the day!
Bill Phillips: Glad you enjoyed it Martin

He looks a little lost in space. His Rudolph's nose, his bright red shoes will lead the way.
Bill Phillips: He's been lost in space for years Mary
Eh eh, great fun capture Bill!
Bill Phillips: A bit of fun Richard
And I thought all the clowns were in Blackpool smile
Bill Phillips: You should visit Worcester
Nice to see he was able to find a hat to match his pyjamas, Bill. Judging from the grimace on his face, though, I think he would prefer to go back to bed.
Bill Phillips: Chad always looks as if he would rather be in bed
You have indeed captured these two giants of the modern age in one picture, you must have felt underwhelmed with joy at such an achievement.
Bill Phillips: words cannot convey my indifference Brian
Looks like Chad has gone up in the world.
Bill Phillips: A giant among men Michael.
