Amazing structure!
Bill Phillips: It is a fine old church. The tower had to be taken down in about 1920 because of subsidence of the land caused by the extraction of brine. This is why the High streey dips in the middle. It used to be more or less level!

A very agreeable image for an interior, no doubt you have chucked the whole arsenal of twiddle-land at it to provide this fine end product
Bill Phillips: Tonemapped and finished in Lightroom.

Looks a lovely place. Some good editing, too. Those pews have seen a few backsides over the years.
Bill Phillips: We have been to a couple of concerts here and the pews are very uncomfortable

Fine that there are bins at the pews to put off the wet umbrellas - yes, I know we are in rainy Droitwich - a nice local church, a bit pepped up by the Twiddlemaster.
Bill Phillips: Welcome back Philine. Those are not for umbrellas but for the ladies parasols. The parish centre next door is where we have our book sale
Love the highlights on the pews
Bill Phillips: They would like to get rid of the pews, which are a Victorian addition as they are in many churches and use chairs. It makes the building more versatile and, these days they need to attract more people to use the church.
A very fine old church Bill, and well photographed and presented. They are really nice pews aren't they, good and solid, but many churches have taken them out these days and use chairs. Our parish church in Shepshed done it a few years ago, mind you there pews were the most uncomfortable I've ever sat on!
Bill Phillips: These are far from comfortable Brian.

It looks a wonderful old building
Bill Phillips: It is Anne. Norman in origin it had extensive work done to it in the 1920s including the removal of the tower which had become dangerous due to the subsidence of the High street caused by the extraction of brine over the years
