photoblog image My parent's wedding

My parent's wedding

My parents were married in 1937 and celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary shortly before my father died in 1967

The lady seated on the left is my father's mother and the man standing next to my dad is his father the lady seated on the right is my mother's mother, As a child I adored her. Behind her is my mother's dad. Both my grandfathers died before I was born and I only really remembr my paternal grandmother as  very old and slightly scary. My maternal grandmother was everything a grandmother should be. I have no idea who the rest of the people are

I can see by her smile that your maternal grandmother was a warm and happy woman. I can see what you're saying about your paternal grandmother... smile

Very fine and formal, Squire.

A lovely reminder of an elegant period now long gone unfortunately. I bet the reception did not feature a disco smile Your mother's mother looks to be far too young to be your mother's mother. Lovely stuff.
Bill Phillips: She would on;y have been about 41. My mother was only 19 when she got married

Your mother and her mother look very much alike and you look like your dad. You grandmother surely does look like a lovely and warm person.
Bill Phillips: She was Mary. Most people think I look like my Dad

Fantastic image Bill and it proves, despite what others might say, that you are no b*****d. Your mother reminds me of Ange. Your Papa reminds me of a 1920s New York tycoon. The two chaps on the left - I am concerned about their hands. Your father's mother looks as if she is thinking, "he better look after my little boy properly". I think that the two blokes on the right are gate crashers.
Bill Phillips: I don't think my father's mother ever gave him much thought

Bonnie Lass your mum.
Bill Phillips: She was Michael. And a Lancashire Lass too
What a lovely picture Bill, very much 30's of course, but you do look like your dad but you are even more the spitting image of his dad, your paternal Grandfather aren't you.
Bill Phillips: I have more hair
What a fabulous image to cherish Bill!
Bill Phillips: Indeed it is Richard
They were all hired by the photo studio, Bill smile
Bill Phillips: Hahahahaha
