photoblog image My mother

My mother

She is the one on the motorbike.

In the run up to Christmas I though I would dig out ome old family pictures. This is partly because I thought it was a good idea and partly because post Bromsgrove I haven't taken anything apart from Santa and my grandson and don't have much time to do anything about it!

Fabulous memorabilia, Bill.
Bill Phillips: I don't know when this was taken Ray. Must be the 1930s
That's just awesome! Go Mom!
Bill Phillips: I don't know when this was taken. My mother was only 19 when she married my dad and he isn't in this picture. I don't even know where or when they met!

Very amusing but I think Bob Bacon has got the edge regarding frames..
Bill Phillips: I don't think you should encourage him

Your mother fits the "bill" just fine, Bill, until you have time again. I'm guessing you have many memories of her from this time of the year.
Bill Phillips: Yes you always seem to look back at this time of year. Ange and I both lost our parents a long time ago

Oh, sorry, I didn't read the title because I was so fascinated by the couple! Oh, I see your beauty you got from Mum and Dad!
Bill Phillips: It isn't my dad on this picture. In fact I have no idea who the other 3 people are

Since my mother died two years ago, I have a number of old family pics in my possession. The problem is that they are all framed rather permanently and I can't take them out to copy. Pity.

Seems they had fun, then.
Bill Phillips: I have a box of pictures, some of which I have scanned. Trouble is my mother died 23 years ago and my dad died 46 years ago and I have no idea who many of the people are
A delightful post.
Bill Phillips: Thank you. I have no idea where or when this was taken
Very charming, is this a professional studio shot with a painted backdrop? Old photographs are wonderful, somehow have added reverence.
Bill Phillips: I would think so John but I know nothing about the picture other than my mother is in it!
That's lovely, Bill. It must bring back memories for you. I think I will have to look through old photos as I am not getting the chance to take new ones.
Bill Phillips: Trouble is with my parents pictures I have no idea who most of the people are.
Very nice shot Bill and I like how you've presented this framed; it reminds me of a shot of my father in a car with his friends, from when he was at a show in Olympia - great memorabilia smile
Bill Phillips: I wish I knew more about when and where this was taken. and why!

Fantastic fun photograph Bill. Your mum was a bit of a laugh by the look of it. You clearly borrowed the frame from Bob Bacon. All in all, I like it.
Bill Phillips: Well she was from Lancashire so was hardly likely to be a shrinking violet.
This is classic! priceless memories
Bill Phillips: Yes it looks like they were having a great time too

Blimey women knew how to have fun in them days ... lovely
Bill Phillips: and not an ipod or ipad insight
I really like this old shot Bill, your Mum had a fine taste in hats. smile I've never thought about raiding the family album, apart from something for my 70th.next year, but that is another story.
Bill Phillips: I just wish I knew more about this and some of the other old family pictures Brian
Awesome...

She was a stunner back in the days
Bill Phillips: I guess she was Preyi.
What a lovely and precious image Bill!
Bill Phillips: It is indeed Richard
Good enough, Bill - I take it you got your looks from your Dad, rather than this very attractive lady smile
Bill Phillips: Um....yes I did actually Tom grin
