Glorious Bromsgrove 5

Here we have been whisked to the far end of the High Street

Today the challenge is to listen to the video all the way through.

I actually have the single (this was the B side )

Oh and hands up if you know who did the introduction. (I saw her on stage in about 1964!)

I am sitting on my hands, Bill, as I don't want to spoil all the fun for those of your SC buddies who get their kicks from your stimulating quizes.
Bill Phillips: Hehehehe She was very good live.
I've never in my life heard of Craig Douglas- but I really enjoyed this song because he has a beautiful voice. I've no idea who the chic is at the beginning, but she strangely looks a lot like Franks daughter, Sarah.
Bill Phillips: Bit before your time really E. He was popular here in the UK in the late 50s and early 60s. His biggest hit was a song called Only Sixteen

Totally apart from the video question...I love that you keep debunking Chris' Rain Friday. grin
Bill Phillips: He has now started a campaign to like Bromsgrove. He and Chad have clearly been conspiring.

Chapters seems to be a fabulous shop to shop in Billiam. I bet you make regular visits to the Art gallery .... look there is even a sign to direct you. Isn't the local council thoughtful. So much rich culture going on there. Do you make weekly trips to Bromsgrove.
Bill Phillips: I suppose living in darkest Suffolk any sort of shop would be exciting

I plan to visit once a year to have the car serviced
terrific HDR, works well here with the high contrasts
Bill Phillips: Thanks very much Ayush

This part pedestrianisation really does make a street like this less of an oppressive place
Bill Phillips: It does indeed, one can ramble freely only taking care not to be mown down by an occasional delivery vehicle

Easy Bill, its our Helen, walking back to entertaining. I can't get over how well kept Bromsgrove is. They could win an award for Best Kept town in Britain...or perhaps the world.
Bill Phillips: The same; she must be in her mid 60s now

I love the long shadows and you had the street all by yourself. I just love that.
Bill Phillips: The bonus of being up early!

Oh, sorry, my former comment disappeared ...

Where are all the people - are Bromsgrove's inhabitants emigrate to the sunny Droitwich where the sausages are available gratis all day, every ...? The sun is out here, too, but the place looks a bit boring - poor Bromsgrove - I should visit you next year! The music is very good!
Bill Phillips: By the time I left the streets were bustling with folk.

You should visit as you would be very much welcomed

It looks very clear without a raindrop in sight.
Bill Phillips: Just like it is this morning Aussie
The house goes up for sale next week, and can't stop playing the video.I hope we are going to like Bromsgrove.
Bill Phillips: I hate to have to tell you but you won't

This is a delight and the lack of crowds appeals to me. Seeing Domino's Pizza place reminds me that I've had an Advent Calendar from them pushed through my door. Talk about the commercialism of Christmas... ggggrrr
Bill Phillips: What a horrible thought....still it will probably taste better than their Pizzas

You have wonderful light in this series, Bill. The sunshine is more wonderful than rain.
Bill Phillips: Early morning Autumn. I really should find the time to get out with the camera at this time of day

It looks a very ordered town. BTW, that amount you quoted for the major service, sent shivers down my spine. That was huge. The worst I ever had t contribute was around 200 sterling. I thought that was steep.
Bill Phillips: This is rip off Britain Louis. A friend had her Renault Laguna serviced with new belts and it cost £1200 just for the belts
and Glorious it is Bill... I loove this angle!
Bill Phillips: Looks quite nice in the morning sun
Superb light and tones Bill!
Bill Phillips: Thanks very much Richard

I am late in the dy, and nearly missed this, Bill - I am so pleased I didn't - it looks such a well cared for, tidy, place, and no doubt has very happy inhabitants
Bill Phillips: It probably does and some right miserable ones too grin
Still looks like a standard high street but it is very tidy, must have had the post Saturday night binge clean-up. We enjoyed the video, the girl is of course Helen herself as Chad suggested, and the girls in the background really remind me of how they all used to look when I was but a callow youth at that time and took my chances at the local Town Hall dance on a Saturday evening, great times smile
Bill Phillips: Ah nostalgia Brian......you can't beat it grin
Nice.....
Bill Phillips: Thanks..............smile

I think I must have seen her in Hull around 1965
Bill Phillips: I can't remember who she was touring with it might have been Bobby Rydell!!
While everyone else has gone to the other end?
Bill Phillips: Perhaps the people are camera shy?
Sir,sir! I know! It was Helen Shapiro...Great voice.
Bill Phillips: Hahaha Correct and she did have a great voice.

sorry Bill - I've failed the challenge. I really thought I could stick it out but I couldn't. I wonder what the A side was?
Bill Phillips: It was a song called My Favourite Melodies
