Glorious Bromsgrove 1

Roughly 6 miles north of Droitwich lies the town of Bromsgrove. I took this series of pictures when I had to take my car into the Hyundai delership in the town for a major service that involved changing several belts in the engine area. (somewhere I never venture) So I had to get the bus back to Droitwich, and as the free bus pass doesn't kick in until 9.30 I had a mooch round and a bacon buttie at Wetherspoons (Not a patch on the Clent Hills butties)

I rarely travel to Bromsgrove......this series of pictures will explain why

This doesn't look an unpleasant lane, except for the Blockbusters' store
Bill Phillips: Gone bust. Mind you I never actually went in one!
It looks like a very nice village with the sun just catching to tops of the buildings Bill... were you upset because the Blockbuster was out of business....petersmile
Bill Phillips: Having never set foot in one not really Peter, except feeling sorry for the people who lost their jobs

This looks like a nice little town and you got sunrise... Love the HDR here. Too bad the Bacon Buttie did not reach the expectations.....

Looks like they hire the town drunk to paint the white lines on the road, Bill.
Bill Phillips: These mark the approach to a Zebra crossing....a rare occurrence in Bromsgrove

Your treatment makes it look OK, Bill

I am struck by the indigenous brick frontages of these buildings, some of which have a pre-Victorian essence
Bill Phillips: Indeed, and later in this series you will see further evidence of that

and the sun ist out here, too, like in Droitwich, but there are also some shadows. I lik reading your words! Did you already care for the winter tires as my brother recently did?
Bill Phillips: Most people here don't bother with winter tyres, we just get stuck if it snows

Time for everyone to wake up, Bill! I hope you got all your belts changed to your satisfaction. smile
Bill Phillips: Neale's Garange in Bromsgrove did an excellent job on my humble Matrix and she now drives better than ever grin

I think many town centres have been cloned to look identical
Bill Phillips: I think that has happened to most of my photographs too

A fine composition Bill. I do not know this place so look forward to the series. The streets look very clean and I like the gentle sweep of the road.
Bill Phillips: I am growing concerned that people might like the place thus totally defeating the object of the series

By the Lovin' Spoonful - tou must be poor now after changing all the belts. The only major thinkg about the service is the bill - oh sorry Bill.
Bill Phillips: Actually they did a very good job. Full service MOT test and two new tyres and the car drives better than when I first bought it. OK the whole bill did come to over £650 but I know of people who have had far larger bills when belts get changed!
Different..
Bill Phillips: Well it is i suppose but not very
Looks fine to me, Bill - I wonder if BlockBuster is still alive? smile
Bill Phillips: Dead as a duck in orange sauce Martin

What do the squiggly lines signify? Nice shot
Bill Phillips: They mark the approach to a Zebra crossing. Unlike your Countryman Ray you will know what one of those is
This looks like a difficult road to drive on
Bill Phillips: Not really as long as you remember we drive on the left
I have a feeling I once went to Bromsgrove for a meeting with my boss at the time. This does look almost high street standard doesn't it.
Bill Phillips: It is not a place that would burn itself into your memory Brian.
And yet your picture gives a pleasant impression Bill!
Bill Phillips: Drat....this isn't going as planned

Wot? No courtesy car? Outrageous! Mind you, for my service on my Mazda last week if I wanted a courtesy car, I would have to wait until January. Nothing could match the quality of the Clent Hill bacon butties.
Bill Phillips: It is a 6 year old Matrix.....and I didn't actually buy it from them. I didn't ask though, I wonder what they would have said. You are right about the Clent Hills buttie

Bromsgove is a bit close to Birmingham - nuff said!
Bill Phillips: It is very close but Birmingham is far nicer .....nuff said grin
Shame on you, at your age you should be able to strip a car down and put it all back together again. But looking at your pictures I can see why you can't.
Bill Phillips: I wouldn't attempt surgery on myself so why should I fart about with cars? Cars go to garages to be serviced or repaired, I just drive them. Happily people are queueing up for my photographs.
Nice to see such a thriving busy community smile
Bill Phillips: Bustling is the word Tom
With your car I thought you just pushed it not drive it.
Bill Phillips: You may mock Shaw but I have had that car for 3 years now and it has been a paragon of reliability. to be honest these days I don't give a rat's tiny little butt about cars and want to spend as little as possible so the next one will probably be a Dacia!
