No salt...no barrow...
Bill Phillips: I have no idea what a Saltbarrow actually is!
A very pleasant breezeway!

Gotta love Woody!
Bill Phillips: This is a gem E. I love the bit where the moose and the Burkowitz (or however it is spelt) lock antlers!

I wonder about the one shadow reflection, a bit mysterious! All lines are leading to St. Augustin!

Ach, du lieber Augustin,
Augustin, Augustin,
Ach, du lieber Augustin,
Alles ist hin!

1. Geld ist hin, Mädl ist hin,
Alles ist hin, Augustin!
Ach, du lieber Augustin,
Alles ist hin!

Refrain:
2. Rock ist weg, Stock ist weg,
Augustin liegt im Dreck.
Ach, du lieber Augustin,
Alles ist hin!

Refrain:
3. Und selbst das reiche Wien,
Hin ist's wie Augustin;
Weint mit mir im gleichen Sinn,
Alles ist hin!

Refrain:
4. Jeder Tag war ein Fest,
Jetzt haben wir die Pest!
Nur ein großes Leichenfest,
Das ist der Rest.

Refrain:
5. Augustin, Augustin,
Leg' nur ins Grab dich hin!
Ach, du lieber Augustin,
Alles ist hin!

tr. Frank, 1999

Refrain:
O, my dear friend Augustin
Augustin, Augustin,
O, my dear friend Augustin,
I just can't win!

1. Money's gone, girlfriend's gone,
I just can't win, Augustin!
O, my dear friend Augustin,
I just can't win!

Refrain:
2. Coat is gone, staff is gone,
Augustin's on his bum.
O, my dear friend Augustin,
I just can't win!

Refrain:
3. Even that rich town Wien,
Broke is like Augustin;
Shed tears with thoughts akin,
I just can't win!

Refrain:
4. Every day was a fest,
Now we just have the pest!
Now all the corpses rest,
That is the rest.

Refrain:
5. Augustin, Augustin,
Lay down in your coffin!
O, my dear friend Augustin,
I just can't win!

This is Vienna humourous melancholy - let's go to Woody Allen! Oh, my English is a bit rusty to understand him!
Bill Phillips: It is a well known song Philine. Thank you for reminding me of it smile

I have never visited this subtropical paradise myself..
Bill Phillips: Keep it that way

Thank you for your answer - was Stanley active?
Bill Phillips: He hasn't been active for a long time Philine.

I know that Stanley Moore was very keen to visit Droiters but was afraid of getting wet after what the doctor told him.
Bill Phillips: His untimely demise caused almost as much national interest as the demise of Hercule Poirot on the Television last night

Well perhaps almost is stretching it a bit

Actually it didn't cause much interest at all

Well none really
No wonder I still feel ill looking at this.
Bill Phillips: Well don't look then
I really like those long shadows you've captured here, Bill. The pruned trees lining the road give the scene a very manicured look.
Bill Phillips: They look a bit unreal. I prefer my trees tree shaped grin
i dont know why but i find those trees somewhat comical. perhaps the close trim and the spindly looking trunks. love the sky
Bill Phillips: They don't look quite real somehow

I like the lighting in this giving those long shadows. Pleased to see that the local yobs have not tried the wall canvas on the left!
Bill Phillips: Too much space perhaps, they haven't the imagination for it
This also is another fine thoroughfare and a grand looking church in the distance.
Bill Phillips: St Augustine's is a lovely church Brian
Light and shadow is good here. ... Have you ever seen a real moose? : )
Bill Phillips: Ummmmmmmmmm No. I remember the joke about the Scotsman who saw one for the first time and asked what it was...A Moose was the reply...A moose!! If that's a moose, what the heck are yer rats like!!

I think your Droitwich pictures will convince anyone who believed Chris's pictures to be the genuine thing that he was misleading them
Bill Phillips: He is a libellous felon and should be soundly thrashed
A very nice shadow play here Bill! A beautiful perspective too.
Bill Phillips: Than you kindly Richard

Those trees don't look real
Bill Phillips: I sometimes wonder if you are comrade
It looks almost like a virtual reality shot! Market? Where are the folks? Of course, if this is the fictitious town of Droitwich, there will only be imaginary people! Those trees look fake, too!
Thanks for the Woody Allen - he was a great stand up.
