Exeter 7 of some

The building on the left sticking out is the Guildhall which dates back to about 1160 although the front is, I think, late 16th century. It is the oldest civic building still serving a civic function in the country

I love this B&W - it almost looks like a sketch!
Bill Phillips: It went very wet and miserable for awhile, so b&w seemed appropriate

Bill Phillips: Thanks Ayush. It rained and went very gloomy for a while!

I have gone along this street to the Cathedral and I recall the Guildhall - but in colour - a wonderful building! Oh, you have brought with you Droitwich's rain?
Bill Phillips: It was a bit wet for a short while Philine. Sadly the Guildhall was closed. I have never actually been inside

Very good street shot Billiam .... I like the capture of the kids on the right arsing about
Bill Phillips: are you allowed to say arsing on shutterchance?
A street with a range of interesting frontages, thank goodness they have been retained
Bill Phillips: The city was significantly bombed in WW2 and lost a lot of fine buildings that were demolished rather than restored.

Vey good image Bill but, it looks like you took the weather with you.
Bill Phillips: It only rained for a short while. I thought Tiff had suddenly made a visit but I never found him

Wow, and they have someone polish the sidewalks daily. What a place!
Bill Phillips: That's how they do things in Devon
Looks like some nice old buildings, Bill. Good to see the center pedestrianised smile
Bill Phillips: Apart from the buses grin
An interesting series on Exeter Bill
Bill Phillips: Thanks John
Quite interesting architecturally in that part of Exeter Bill. Looks good in B&W after the rain
Bill Phillips: Someone described Exeter as a city with beautiful buildings rather than a beautiful city
I like this a lot Bill, very nice!
Bill Phillips: I am obliged to you JC

Yes, I remember the Guildhall. It is a fine sight. I like the sheen on the roads and pavement. Nicely done, Bill.
Bill Phillips: I have never been inside and this was no exception as it was closed!
Perfect processing for this street scene, Bill. You can see the sky brightening up in the distance.
Bill Phillips: and it did Beverly and the sun shone!
This looks an interesting street, some nice old buildings. Re your reply to Martin they are pedestrianising the centre of Loughborough at the moment, but with buses, of which there are many, still running through in both directions!!!
Bill Phillips: Seems a popular way of doing things. It has been like that in Exeter for some years
Wonderful timeless image Bill!
Bill Phillips: Thank you very much Richard

Very nice in gleaming monochrome, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Not a lot of gleam....more gloom!
