Brilliant shot! The sky is very dramatic and you are doing fine with your HDR.

I am a big fan HDR. smile
Bill Phillips: Thanks Frances. It is very clever software and the results are interesting
The HDR really magnifies that sky...
Bill Phillips: I liked the way the sky turned out Larry

I think the lad is getting the hang of that HDR do-dad....the problem is the technology is getting all the attention rather than the fine pano of a country railway station.
Bill Phillips: I agree Ray. This is the jigsaw puzzle version
Well done... fine shot and treatment.
Bill Phillips: Thanks very much Jacquelyn
You're getting a little HDR'ish! I like the composition & the sky - were you on a bridge?
Bill Phillips: Yes there is a footbridge across the line which then leads to the museum.

This is the Severn Valley Railway isn't it. Seeing your picture reminds me to enjoy myself and have a fry-up later, mustn't get carried away & overcook the eggs though..
Bill Phillips: It is indeed. Went the other day with a friend of mine. We had intended to go to Bodenham arboretum but it was closed when we got there!

You have made this look like a model railway with one of Tiffs painted skies from his shed
Bill Phillips: I have seen countless pictures like this on 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles
A fine image messed up with HDR.
Bill Phillips: This is the jigsaw puzzle version and is for you when you get tired of doing the other one in between helping me to stoke the furnaces in Hell
I'm in two minds about this, Bill, you have done a good job with the H.D.R. and you have achieved your purpose in upsetting, Michael smile As to wether it suits the subject,I'm not sure, it is a good shot though.
Bill Phillips: It is over processed to be honest but that was deliberate. I will probably do it again toned down to a more natural look. Well if I can find the time!

Everything seems a little unreal with the HDR.
Bill Phillips: That is the problem with it Mary. A lot of people like it but I am looking to use it to produce more natural pictures than this. This one is for fun and there are a few more like it to come!
Taken from the balcony of the Engine House I presume. I'm a bit like Frank in that it's a great railway image but I'm not sure about the HDR, makes for a very strong sky though.
Bill Phillips: No from the footbridge over the line. The sky is fine but overall it is a jigsaw puzzle picture Brian
A nice swoopy look to it Bill. Great image
Bill Phillips: Pleased yo like it Janet.

SPECIAL EXTRA COMMENT

If this is HDR I think I'll stick to the old ways of using a clockwork powered early version of PHOTOSHOP...
Bill Phillips: There is nothing new about HDR. It has been around for at least 150 years and at it simply is a means of combining pictures taken at different exposures to compensate for the difference in contrast which the camera cannot handle. Modern software has made it possible for anybody to do this and it is great fun to ramp it up a bit like the above. At a future date I intend to show some more restrained efforts
I think this is really outstanding Bill.
Bill Phillips: Thank you very much Sally
Now, that is what I'd call effective. Lovely stuff.
Bill Phillips: 5 exposures in Photomatix Pro and a bit of a twiddle in lightroom
Quite a fine surreal atmosphere Bill!
Bill Phillips: Thank you kindly Richard

I've been the Severn Valley Railway just once (same weekend as I met you and Chad and that other in Baconbuttieshire) - well, it is Great Western! Highley station was my favourite station. I detect some editing in this.
Bill Phillips: Taken from the bridge Alan. 5 bracketed pictures done over in Photomatix Pro and revved up a bit. Did you visit the Engine house museum here?
