Toper's Paradise 3

If I remember correctly this was a special port to celebrate the new king taking over the throne. Now that is a sensible idea. All we will get probably is a celebration beer that tastes like a baby's nappy.

Splendid tribute! However the description of the celebration beer really made my eyes water. smile
Bill Phillips: I am being a bit cynical Frances.

Bill's a bit grumpy today...too much about the bloddy new royal in The Guardian, already?
Bill Phillips: It is absurd Ray. If I want any news I have to watch Al Jazeera!
Another wonderful image with soft tones Bill...

you've got to stay away from that nappy beergrin....petersmile
Bill Phillips: Hopefully one of the decent breweries will produce something. Anything from the big boys will be undrinkable!

Great shot and you remembered well.
We opened the bottle Sunday, it is wonderful.
I hope the UK comes up with something for the-new-born-King-to-be-in-the-future.....
Bill Phillips: They will be loads of tat made in China I expect.
I like the image, Bill!
This is one of my favorite UB40 songs... Neil Diamonds version was too syruppy!
I can't comment on the Monarchy, nor the new babe - except I'm happy he's healthy. Not even my English Sweetheart seems terribly moved... smile
Bill Phillips: I like the UB40 version. Mind you it was Neil diamond who wrote it as I recall. I have his version on an old album.

Nothing against the monarchy but the media goes into a frenzy and if I want to see any news I have to watch Al Jazeera

It seems you spent your whole time in this wine cellar from the look of it!
Bill Phillips: and your point is?

You certainly did hang around there a bit, Bill

Not that I'm a big Port drinker to know, Bill, but this is very good Port! Red, red Port! I'll be singing that all day now. smile

BTW, I love how you wove this into the Royal Birth announcement. smile
Bill Phillips: The royal baby thing is near hysteria! I am starting to think Chad might be right about becoming a republic!

I wouldn't mind a nip or two
Bill Phillips: Ginnie and Astrid bought some and they say it is very good!
The reason you were born was to work and pay taxes for the up keep of this Royal Baby, stop moaning and pay your tax.the beer will be called Wee Willy Piddlers.Congrats on winning the photo comp,
Bill Phillips: You almost feel sorry for the poor little sod.
Good name for the beer.
Thank you

As a treasonite I shall not be celebrating, apart from the day we become a true democracy.
Bill Phillips: So you want proportional representation as well then?

an eldorado for all wine -connaiseurs! I saw the royal baby yesterday evening on our tv, and today the newspaper is full of the birth event! I'm sure that the new beer will be alcohol -free! Now we are waiting for the name - Kate & Wiilliam are 'working' to find out a nice one, William/Bill has been already taken!
Bill Phillips: Perhaps they should go back to ancient times. Rufus perhaps or Ethelred
A bit of Stilton with the port and anything can become bearable - even the news.
Bill Phillips: I can't argue with that Mary smile

S*d the beer; let's have a public holiday. Oh.. you're retired so permanently on holiday. I like your description of a possible UK version.
Bill Phillips: I'm not entirely retired. I work when the company asks me to! I did half an hour today.
It seems not all Brits are enamoured with this Royal birth, Bill. Is there a big movement for you to become a Republic?
Bill Phillips: It isn't so much the birth as the ludicrous coverage by the media. I quite like the Monarchy and don't fancy having a President much

A wee glass of red wine would be rather nice to sip while AVOIDING the newspapers and all that baby talk
Bill Phillips: I could not agree more!
Yes that certainly looks like a good celebratory drink Bill. Did you try some?
Bill Phillips: Sadly no but Ginnie and Astrid say it is very good
I think I would like to give that a try. What's this about you winning a competition, whatever it is congratulations!!
Bill Phillips: It was the Severn Valley railway Brian. I had taken some pictures of Kidderminster Station and Ange said I should enter so I did. I had an email yesterday to say I had won!
I think I have a vintage Kopke down in the cellar.
