Bradford upon Avon

Bradford upon Avon is a delightful town, as my namesake will tell you and he has posted pictures from here. Ange and I visited with Lisl and Michael on a rather damp grey morning. But the day improved as it went on and ended in glorious sunshine when we visited Farleigh Hungerford in the afternoon

This is a rather pleasant canal scene, Bill.
Bill Phillips: It was a rather pleasant canal Ray
Wonderful image and treatment Bill... this has a lot to look at... the locks... a narrow canal boat... a marine shop... an RV... and all of the cottages with the long TV antennas... just to mention a fewgrin....petersmile
Bill Phillips: Lots to see in Bradford upon Avon Peter. It is a delightful town
It does look delightful, indeed! Great shot, the treatment is interesting.
Bill Phillips: Lovely little town E. The first time I have ever actually had the chance to walk around it rather than just be driving through

It's almost as if you took this in the 1950's

Indeed so, Bradford On Avon is a fine place for walking in and visiting at any time of the year
Bill Phillips: It is indeed. I have driven through it many times and it was good to be able to spend time wandering about
Go back go decorating, this like watching paint dry.
Bill Phillips: You are an unimaginative miserable old scrotum. smile

This photo is presented to a super standard
A win by 14 runs a good test
Bill Phillips: It was a real nail biter. shame it had to be settled by the third umpire!

It is a fine town Bill with lots of good walks. This catches the mood of the lock perfectly.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Mike. Ange and I went with Lisl and Michael. One of those places I have been through many times working but never had the time to stop and have a wander around

Yes, I've been there but only once; a starting point for a bike ride along the canal to Bath. This looks a delightful scene.. apart from the camper van; I hate the things.
Bill Phillips: It is a bit of a blot on the landscape Alan
Except for the Winniebago,as Richard says, this could be back in the day.Don't mince your words with Michael...Tell him how it is, Bill ! smile
Bill Phillips: Yes I could have got rid of it somehow but I thought what the Heck. I don't mince words when I am hot. I am not Mr Nice Guy in hot weather grin
It would be a charm to rent a room there and take all the time you would need to explore historic Bradford upon Avon, Bill. Hope we will be seeing more images like this one.
Bill Phillips: It is a lovely town. There is another picture tomorrow
This looks very much my type of place, fine shot Bill.
Bill Phillips: You and Maureen would enjoy wandering around here Brian
Awesome shot
Bill Phillips: Thanks Preyi, pleased you like it

The camper bus seems to be larger than the narrow boat. First time I could really gauge the boat's size.

Well worked picture.
Bill Phillips: I suppose it does give some scale.
Wonderful atmospheric shot Bill!
Bill Phillips: It is most pleasant down by the canal and river Richard

B-O-A has great charm but is choked by traffic. The easy solution is a by-pass, but no, the topography of the area makes this all but impossible.
Bill Phillips: It is indeed overrun by traffic. Perhaps they could build a tunnel underneath
Takes one to know one.
Bill Phillips: I am not a nice person when it is hot. I have just had to do a 5 hour round trip to London or a meeting that lasted about 10 minutes so I am now in an even worse mood. So I intend to take it out on you grin
Carry on my son, grumpy old fart.
Bill Phillips: It is not quite so hot today but tomorrow is forecast to be very hot........

Now I wonder if we'll maybe see it, too, when we visit Lisl and Michael next year. You know me and narrowboats!!!
Bill Phillips: You may well Ginnie as Bradford is only a few miles from where they live
