In that case he must be one of the tallest men in England,no the world
Bill Phillips: He's a big lad vintage. Has to sit in the back seat of his car to drive it.

Looks like a gormless Gormley, Bill...did Ridgey Didge push it over?
Bill Phillips: He clambered over it like a demented child Ray but it withstood his efforts

Great shot and I wonder if Ridge slipped and hurt himself?
Bill Phillips: He is like a mountain goat when it comes to climbing Lady P. Come to think of it he's a bit like a mountain goat in a lot of ways.....
Pretty cool thing there!
Bill Phillips: It is rather splendid Elizabeth. And the Scallop is quite good too

Oh, now I understand Richard's enthousiasm about this sculpture by Maggie Hambling at Aldeburgh beach - I would like to see it, too! - Chad is wearing his Greenland hat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRJa1ozLi6A
Bill Phillips: #It is very impressive Philine...the sculpture not the hat smile

This is a fine & rather silly sculpture but it's good they allow one to climb & generally make an ass of one's self, as we all obviously did. Actually I like this picture very much, no doubt you have boiled it in a tub of Lightroom for several hours?
Bill Phillips: That is true and a touch of Photomatix too if I recall correctly.

FABULOUS image in B&W, Bill...especially from this POV. I like everything about this!
Bill Phillips: Well that makes me very happy today Ginnie and offsets the rude comment I am bound to get from old Grumpy trousers Mick Shaw (I'm starting to wish he'd give up on giving up smoking grin)

Chad seems to have heavily grown since his childhood- Struwwelpeter times!
Bill Phillips: I never was very good at converting imperial to metric Philine
The PPing could of been better, other wise it's not bad.
Bill Phillips: If I had over processed it you would have accused me of copying you wink

Goodness that would have been a great shot if that annoying tourist hadn't got in the way.
Bill Phillips: Couldn't get rid of him no matter how I tried Aussie

2.5 metres? I make that 8ft 2in! Is that some sort of the washed-up creature? (The silvery thing; not Chad). Based on your fun with Mr T; I've booked up for one of his course in mid-July. I'll be just up the each from this?
Bill Phillips: I never was very good at metric.
What is the sculpture made of? It would be nice to see in colour, I think as I would probably not have to ask the first question.
Bill Phillips: It is stainless steel Mary and looks very similar in colour
Amazing feature and excellent shot
Bill Phillips: It is very impressive Preyi

This is a superb photograph of this piece Bill, you have made it look even better than it did when we visited.
Bill Phillips: I am obliged to you Ridge
He's a big lad! I quite like this,Bill, does the tide come up to it? It's very photogenic. ( Not Chad, with all due respect to the gentleman in question)
Bill Phillips: No idea but Trim might know
Love the determined look on Chad's face; he'll climb the scallop's shell to the very top come hell or high water. It has almost a surreal feel in B&W, Bill. Excellent choice.
Bill Phillips: He got most of the way up Beverly
Chad seems proud of bagging that one, but what about the one that got away?
Bill Phillips: Now that one you should have seen John!!!

You chose an great point of view. Maybe you could have warned the maintenance man away?
Bill Phillips: He wouldn't be told
Most unusual creation isn't it, that is the sculpture I mean of course. BTW where does "Ridge" come from, or have I missed something?
Bill Phillips: As you know his blog is now called gutteridge. There was a boxing commentator called Reg Gutteridge so...........well it made sense at the time

It just reminds us what a brave boy is Chad
Bill Phillips: Daft is the word that usually comes to my mind Lisl
What a fabulous piece of art Bill! Errr...I meant two.......
Bill Phillips: Haha Chad is a work of art in his own inimitable way Richard
Is scrambling on the Hambling allowed?
Bill Phillips: Apparently it is Graeme.
crowded here, just a wish for a good night Bill
It makes a pretty good composition - did you leave him there for the benefit of other photographers?
A fine composition Bill to great effect!
Great sculpture and Ridge makes a good looking scale Bill....petersmile
