Great capture smile Railway stations are the most interesting places and this one is captured well. I would love to photo Grand Central Station in NYC.
Bill Phillips: I hope you get to, although the definitive picture of that was done many years ago smile
Whenever I see Torquay I think of Basil Fawlty... smile
Bill Phillips: Haha indeed so Larry. My brother lives in Torquay

Looks like it would be a comfortable place to break out the picnic set on this cold Spring, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Flask of hot tea and a cheese and pickle sandwich Ray
I always think empty rail / bus stations are sad...
Bill Phillips: This is the calm before the storm of the new season really gets going. I bet it was busy over Easter
There`s not a lot going on Bill... but i could never complaine about waiting for a train in this wonderful station....petersmile
Bill Phillips: No indeed Peter. It reminds me of the stations of my childhood
it has a stamp of time on it. i would imagine they use locations such as these to film agatha christie movie's and shorts.
Bill Phillips: It has been used recently for a film coming out later this year Ayush

Oh Torquay - yes, one ticket, please, to Devon - what a comfortable station! A fine image and a feel of the good, old times!
Bill Phillips: I love the old railway posters. There is one on the platform of Droitwich.
You can't beat a good station.
Bill Phillips: and this is one of the best Mick

Oh look, Scusville gets mention! Mind you, in those days it was scummy at all. Paignton looks worth a visit, though, with that girl with her distress flag.
Bill Phillips: Only as a place to escape from to better things

I have been trying to think about the right word. I think it is dignity - a proper human dimension to this preserved space and your photograph captures it perfectly.
Bill Phillips: That will do nicely. There is also a sense of pride

Great looking waiting room
Bill Phillips: Handsome isn't it vintage? They clearly maintain it to a very high standard
Without a mob milling around the station, Bill, we can get a clear view of the room and those wonderful travel posters.
Bill Phillips: It was a chance to enjoy the building Beverly

And with a vague smell of leather polish.
Bill Phillips: Yes you can almost imagine the smell!
All the better to appreciate it Bill, it's a fine ticket hall.
Bill Phillips: It was nice to be able to enjoy the building, especially as Chris had never been so was able to really see it
They done a good job with this, it looks so authentic.
Bill Phillips: In a way it is Brian. The design is based on one for an actual station and the materials are of the period in the main
This old station is a jewel Bill!
Bill Phillips: It certainly is Richard
I really like the tile pattern.
Bill Phillips: Very handsome indeed Mary.
And this was the busy period, eh?
