I am imagining QE2, Bill, and thinking there is going to be an interesting situation develop shortly.
Bill Phillips: It would have to be a very narrow QE2 Ray
The fence shadows are wonderful! Water level too high for boats? How so - would the water all slosh out of it's walls? I can't imagine a water level being too high, you realize! smile
Bill Phillips: It is something to do with the locks but i don;t know the reasons as I an not a boating personsmile

I have seen the lock-system in England, wonderful to see.
I bet that each time a boat comes through the water level will change.
A great shot and that blue sky very appealing wink
Bill Phillips: It is a fascinating process to watch Lady P. Pleased you like the picture smile
fantastic shot. love the clear skies
Bill Phillips: A rare sunny day this year Ayush
This is a wonderful shot of the narrow locks Bill... i like the long shadows from the fence along the walkway....petersmile
Bill Phillips: Thanks Peter. I love the canal and am delighted it is now back in use

You picked such a gorgeous day to show off your town, Bill. I knew it had it's good side! smile
Bill Phillips: It is a nice little town Ginnie. You just need to ignore certain people who only come for the sausage

Droitwich is the country of canals and locks (and narrowboats - what a fine, gemütlich town! The sun seems there more often to be shining than in other parts of UK. The inhabitants are more friendly than otherwhere. I like the parallel shadows!
Bill Phillips: Finally we had some sunshine and I ventured out smile I'm pleased you like the shadows Philine

Although the population have fled (scared at the absence of rain) you have stayed rooted to the spot to take this fine bucolic study
Bill Phillips: I thought it was about time I got out and took some pictures. Preferably ones that would annoy Shaw to a state of near apoplexy
A lock jammed by water!
A lovely light play here Bill.
Bill Phillips: It is something to do with the locks. The river also joins the canal near here so perhaps that is something to do with it if the river is very fast flowing

It's all about the superb shadow.
Bill Phillips: Well it is really....nice sky i thought too
The thumb nail is the best bit. I have plans for you and this canal.
Bill Phillips: They may be similar to the ones I have for you on Blackpool seafront
The old and the new.
Bill Phillips: Indeed so Richard. Although the town has a history going back to Roman times most of the town doesn't go back any further than about 1980!

A locked landscape. Imagine - the water is too high for a boat to float
Bill Phillips: Something to do with the locks. There are signs saying if the water is above a certain level you can't go. I don't have a clue why
I do like the fence shadows and sky, Bill! smile
Bill Phillips: So do I Martin smile
Gorgeous colours here, Bill. Everything thing looks so fresh and clean; just like after a downpour.
Bill Phillips: We have had a lot of rain Beverly. Everything should be spotlessly clean grin
Lovely colours and shadows you've caught here Bill.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Fred.
Quite a reasonable looking modern style estate in the background, quite a nice place to live with the canal nearby. The video is one of my favourites BTW.
Bill Phillips: Built in the 90s I think Brian. They are now building some flats and houses alongside the canal on this side. There is abot2 foot of garden front and back!
You had a bright day for the walk, Bill - lovely shot.
Bill Phillips: One of too few so far this year Tom
You had a bright day for the walk, Bill - lovely shot.
It looks really nice Bill, such blue skies.
Bill Phillips: A rare nice day in January Pauline. And I actually had time to get out and enjoy it!
A pretty look at your town... the shadows make the sidewalk look furrowed...
Bill Phillips: Thanks Larry. i like my town. well I have lived here for over 35 years!
Who needs boats when you have that wonderful skip!
Bill Phillips: You get the prize for both noticing the skip and commenting Graeme smile
