It is the reference to Mr Murphy that does it for me Bill.
Bill Phillips: You might enjoy my picture on February 22nd.... I will say no more at this time

I ashamedly admit that I used to get in trouble for flyable paper aircraft. Looks like a fun book!
Bill Phillips: so did I! It is quite interesting and i might have a go at some of them!

I see you have lost weight, Bill...are you using the diet in which you wear the food rather than eating it?
Bill Phillips: I have always followed the seafood diet....see food...eat it

Yes, this is a pleasure every child in our world might know! 14 flyable models?- oh, I know only one! I could imagine that there are some customes interested in this book(let)!
Bill Phillips: it wasn't worth much Philine, not worth listing on Amazon.

Oh the hours of fun that await, perhaps climaxing with a career in British Aerospace
Bill Phillips: Or Boeing. They already make a plastic plane (mind you it doesn't actually work very well) so a paper one could be next
The kids I taught always won the annual paper plane competitions held in the school. It seemed to be an intuitive skill and nothing to do with my technical skill just, I guess, my encouragement.
Bill Phillips: There are some classic designs in this book and some that I can't imagine would ever fly!
Hello Bill, this book is far to advanced for you Bill. You should stick to putting up naff images on SC.
Bill Phillips: I was thinking of giving it to you next time we meet.

I can't believe this hasn't sold yet - sounds a collectors item. A bit like Status Quo, an apt name if ever there was one, but a perfect selection for the photo!
Bill Phillips: You have to admire Status Quo. They made a fortune out of playing the same 12 bar blues for every record they ever releasedsmile
I would definitely have fallen to sleep by the end of the first chapter if I tried reading this book.
Bill Phillips: no you wouldn't Brian. you would have taken the paper out of your printer and started folding like a thing possessed
My own masterpiece was a paper Sopwith Camel - all my own invention. The dog ate it smile
My friend used to keep a Garfield cat just like that....on his dashboard! I like it Bill grin
Bill Phillips: I'm not sure how I acquired it Martin but it sits there all the time!
Oh the simple pleasures of life.
Bill Phillips: The best sort usually Martin

Do children still do this today? I imagine very few do
Bill Phillips: Probably when not prevented by health and safety

We had some sort of charity fiundraising event when we encouraged to build paper aircraft and then see how far they would fly. I think mine was based on a very early prototype with the flying capabilities of a tower block.
Bill Phillips: Another follower of the Boeing school
Great fun Bill.
Bill Phillips: There are some interesting designs inside Pauline grin
This is how it all started Bill
Bill Phillips: You mean.....the Wright Brothers made paper planes?? smile

Looks as if you could be deriving lots of fun from your reading Bill smile
Bill Phillips: We have great fun sorting through books and finding ones that might be worth listing on Amazon. This one wasn't worth anything but we have sold quite a lot over the last 6 years.
I have built so many of them at school Bill!
Bill Phillips: Me too Richard grin
Flyable, eh? Doing better than Boeing then.
