An interesting image today Lord Clent, I have never fished, nor ever had the desire to, mainly because it reminded me of work.
Bill Phillips: Tried it once. Bored me to death. Are you turning into an night owl?
Gotta love Chris Rea!
Bill Phillips: Indeed Elizabeth. I used to have this album on a cassette, must get it on CD or download it sometime

Ok, Uncle...you bring the fishing tackle and I'll bring the ice-box and beer...
Bill Phillips: Tell you what Ray we'll both bring an ice box and beer and not bother with the fishing
Love the clock... i should have read that book... then i would be able catch more fish Bill....petersmile
Bill Phillips: I wish it was genuine! Has a quartz movement and was probably made in china grin

I'd definitely go with you, Uncle Bill. Let's do it! (With Chris in the background!)
Bill Phillips: I know nothing at all about fishing Ginnie grin
Fishing and too much time on one's hands seem to go togther.
Bill Phillips: I was listing books on Amazon and found a few that I decided to take pictures of
Nice collection of stuff to commemorate fishing. Fishing -the biggest waste of time, in my opinion, and I cannot understand where the brave challenge is of (finally!) hooking a fish and pulling it out of the water. I cheer the fish when I see a fishing "battle" going on!!
Bill Phillips: Fishing is totally beyond me Sheila. I tried it was and was bored stiff!

Fishing for compliments I suspect!

Chad has given up sleeping because he thinks it is a waste of time
Bill Phillips: What does he plan to do with all this extra time?
More kids should take up fishing, much better for them instead of siting in front of a computer on the school holidays.
Bill Phillips: apart from the fresh air i can't see that much difference grin
Knowing your love of piscatorial pleasures this is a surprise.
Bill Phillips: I liked the irony Martin smile

Ummmm.. is there a connection between fishing and the clock (other than wasting time try to teach maggots to swim?)
Bill Phillips: No
My son is an avid fisherman, you should see how much gear is kept in my garage! Don't where he gets the interest from, like you I've never been tempted to even try it.
Bill Phillips: Each to his own I suppose. I guess many people would wonder why we go around with a camera

Love the cover...smile..
Bill Phillips: Pure 1970s
What a gorgeous clock. One of my son's is a fishing nut. I buy him fishing books all the time and would buy this one.
Bill Phillips: Available on Amazon Canada for about 8 dollars Mary. smile

Only fishing I have ever done was part of my uni course and was of the electro fishing type ... sad
Bill Phillips: An effective method I believe, if a little one sided as a contest between man and fish
Love the clock - fishing, a waste of time.
Bill Phillips: Never did much for me Pauline

I remember the excellent comic strip, 'Mr Crabtree goes fishing' that first appeared in the Daily Mirror in the early fifties, and then was later published as a large paperback, I still have my well thumbed copy. Wonderfully illustrated and written by Bernard Venables. I understand the exploits of Mr Crabtree and young Peter are to become a TV series, although I understand Peter might undergo a gender change.
Bill Phillips: You can still buy it, new on amazon for less than a tenner!
I've been watching the new fishing series: Mr Crabtree goes fishing - is this your reply to the world of angling, Bill? wink
Bill Phillips: I known the square root of b***er all about fishing Martin
I won't be late at your fishing lesson with this superb clock Bill!
Bill Phillips: It is nice. not an original sadly smile

wink I know where Chad is.....
I love to fish, very relaxing. I bet you did not write the book then??
great shot.
Bill Phillips: Chad doesn't know where Chad is grin I know nothing about fishing Lady P
.....but he won't hang around to finish.
Bill Phillips: If he's anything like me he'd be bored stiff in minutes
I'll leave the fishing to the boys. That's a lovely clock Bill
Bill Phillips: I'll leave the fishing to anybody! I think the clock came from Past times
60p, a small investment for never having to be hungry
Bill Phillips: I hadn't thought of it like that but you are right!
