As a child, I always wondered why there were very few whales in Wales...this brook looks just about perfect for rubbing the barnacles off the underbelly...
Bill Phillips: there are a lot of gentle mountains and a lot of water in Wales. At the moment there is probably enough of the latter for even the most demanding of Whales

Nice to be back to normal, Bill - I feel comfortable
Bill Phillips: I enjoy Christmas day but all the commercialised nonsense gets very wearing. We are all supposed to rush out now and buy a new three piece suite or a bed. Ba***cks to that grin

Yes, Bill, quiet and peaceful, just like this lovely scene from Wales!
Bill Phillips: I am hoping it stays fine so we can get a bit of fresh air!

This is a wonderful scene and a fabulous picture.
We had a great day yesterday, nice and quiet and today I can mentally prepare for two more long working days grin....
Early shift, so I know I will be going home when it is time and not when the work is finished grin.....
Bill Phillips: We had a quiet day with the family which we always enjoy. Watched Dr Who! Have a god day today. We are going to Helen's in a bit

I'm busy to day ... My comment to Ginnie will explain why.
Bill Phillips: It is that general area

We did thank you: nice meal, agreeable walk

I think you've dropped some black ink into your Lightroom...
Bill Phillips: Actually if you saw the original picture you would be amazed at just what Lightroom can do.

I thought Wales would look a bit brighter- but at the horizon I see some light and the weather is clearing up - here too - I hope you can enjoy a peaceful day - Boxing Day sounds in my ears like 'boxen'/to box sb.
Bill Phillips: One of the explanations of the name is that it is the day the churches used to break open the poor boxes and distribute the money amongst the poor and needy. It was also the day the gentry gave presents to their servants

Thank you Bill, reasonably painless. This looks like a lovely spot. Photo has the look of one of those hand coloured engravings that I remember from my grandfather's books. The limited colour range of Humbrol enamel paint perhaps.
Bill Phillips: Humbrol....that takes me back. I applied for a job with them once!

A fine composition Bill but you have shown how sooty filth has tarnished Wales.
Bill Phillips: That Sooty was a nasty bit of work, and don't get me started on Sweep!
It looks beautiful Bill, a fine capture - any clues to the specific location?
Bill Phillips: It is Snowdonia Fed but I can't remember exactly where Trimbo suggested Bethgelert and it is that area as i recall
Looks a bit cool for a swim.
Bill Phillips: The water was crystal clear though

I think I remember this in b&w. A great place to sit and ponder life. Only leave it when you smell bacon buttie.
Bill Phillips: I did a similar one in sepia which I think I posted on the Pig's blog
I like this, Bill, it reminds me of some of the earlier art works, of the Coopers, in the Lakes.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Frank. I'm delighted you like it.

Had time with the family. As much as they drive me mad usually, they won;'t be around for ever so I need to hang on to every day. There will be plenty of opportunity for me to take to the hills on Christmas Day at some point.
Bill Phillips: Our tribe (a small but select group) still want to be here on Christmas Day and for as long as they want to and we are able that is fine with me. I don't ever want them to come because they think they should
We had a good day with my son and family here, our daughter and her husband are in Perth, Australia. They had a picnic Christmas lunch on the beach, lucky so and so's. Anyway a nice Welsh Wales spot.
Bill Phillips: I was watching a bit the the Sri Lanka Australia test match. I have long had a fancy to go to a boxing day test in Australia!
Great moody image, Bill
Bill Phillips: Thank you kindly Tom
A wonderful atmospheric painting Bill!
Bill Phillips: Thank you very much Richard

Very nice, thank you. Wouldn't mind a walk along here today to freshen up.
Bill Phillips: I had hoped to get out but it rained!
