A quick look at.............................

Attingham Park.

Attingham Park was built for the 1st Lord Berwick in 1785 and was in continuous ownership by the family for more than 160 years. The boudoir (second down on the left) has recently been cleaned. All the decoration is hand painted in this room where everything, including the doors, is curved. Using cotton buds it took about 450 hours of work to clean. The trust has left one panel uncleaned to show the difference and it is truly amazing!

A life of Riley must be spent here- a feel of luxury and elegance - with eccentric colours - wonderful restoration thnks to the NT - your fine collage gives quite more than only a quick look -it evokes the desire to visit this gem one day!
Bill Phillips: You would enjoy it Philine I am sure
Looks a really nice place to go too Bill
Bill Phillips: It is Peter. A very fine house
Nice little montage of this rather sumptuous-looking house. For some reason the staircase made Austin Powers jump into my head. Shagadelic, baby!
Bill Phillips: There is something 1970s about the colour scheme!
Posh, posh, posh! You love these homes, don't you?
Bill Phillips: I do Mary. Ange and I have been National Trust members for about 15 years and still enjoy the houses and gardens and there are still quite a lot we haven't visited
Blimey ... that purple is powerful precocious pretentious pernicious penetrating and ponient.

I wish I brought my thesaurs down to Suffolk so that I could have created a list of twenty.
Bill Phillips: pungent, pristine, perambulating promenading picturesque perfection, pretty plentiful pompous probity......oh I'm bored now
Our only visit here, many years ago, was when the house was closed, it looks very fine inside. Perhaps another journey that way is in order, we enjoy the Shropshire area.
Bill Phillips: I would recommend it Brian
Mmmm - might take a trip this summer - a couple of hours from Sheffield.
Bill Phillips: Well worth the trip Tom

Pompous, precious, polished, plushy, posh; showy, ritzy, glitzy, costly, luxurious, de luxe, superb, brilliant, magnificent, splendid, splendiferous, diamond-studded, theatrical, majestic, grand, grandiose...
Bill Phillips: hehehehe....Mr Trim has you at it too
Great collage showing the opulance of the place Bill
Bill Phillips: Thanks Janet. It is a fine house
Amazing and beautiful. I'm trying to imagine cleaning a whole room with cotton buds - its mind blowing.
Bill Phillips: It does take some imagining

I do like the staircase very much. Unusual colours for a house of that vintage.

Hhaaha at Ray.
Bill Phillips: It gave me a surprise. Looks a bit 70s!
Nice shots Bill, Love the staircase shot.
Bill Phillips: The staircase took me by surprise when I saw it!

Attingham is one of my favorite places to visit. I love the montage smile

My photos have all been taken on the outside...
Bill Phillips: Like a lot of NT properties they now allow photographs inside
