Good looking crockery, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Handsome isn't it?
Great use of light Bill... i like the china but mostly the pipe beside the tea pot... i have one much like it....petersmile
Bill Phillips: I used to have one like it too in my pipe smoking days
This is really a great composition Bill!
Bill Phillips: Well I am delighted you think so Ma'am!

Is the cream tea arriving later? I like the doll collapsed on to the plate. The Daily Mirror was probably not part of the "gutter press" at that time.
Bill Phillips: At its' best it was a campaigning paper of the left. Just another rag now sadly

Best china for a special tea for four, Bill. Like the sugar tongs
Bill Phillips: I wonder if anybody uses sugar tongs these days?

I have a dim memory of these teapots being called 'brown Betties' but that might just be a figment of my imagination!
Bill Phillips: They were and still are. Many people say they are the only way to make tea. We have a blue one!
I like this series Bill. They do sum up what cave houses are like. Cosy, warm (in winter), cool (in summer), and quiet..
Bill Phillips: Spot on Sheila

a wonderful, nostalgic- melancholic composition! Is this Wedgewood porcelain? The newspaper looks a bit like saved from the depth of the ocean.
Bill Phillips: It may be as Kinver is in Staffordshire (but only just). The newspaper is 100 years oldsmile

This gives a feel of coziness
Bill Phillips: They are cozy Chris
I rather like the lighting in this photograph Bill, top marks.
Bill Phillips: Thank you for your kind words Mr Duffton
A nice reconstruction! And a good b&w image.
Bill Phillips: Thank you Tom
Not quite tea for two Bill great capture.
Bill Phillips: But only the first two get to sit down by the look of it
I love the china and wow for the newspaper.
Bill Phillips: It is funny how strongly the titanic stays in the public imagination Mary
I like your treatment here Bill, very nice.
Bill Phillips: Many thaks Frank, much appreciated
I wonder if the news spoilt the appetite that morning? Good shot Bill.
Bill Phillips: It would if you had shares in the White Star Line
Wow, top shot Bill!
Bill Phillips: Cheers Martin!
Intriguing series, Bill, so well captured and presented. Looking forward to number 4.
Bill Phillips: I hope it doesn't disappoint Beverly
Thank goodness it wasn't the Daily Mail.

... and as Mike has suggested, yes they are brown betties and we have several of them of all different sizes but a rich deep brown glaze.
Bill Phillips: I detest that paper. We have a blue Betty. They are the classic teapot
A teatime celebration of not being on the Titanic
Bill Phillips: hahaha! You could be right
Quite a nice nostalgic shot Bill!
Bill Phillips: Thank you Richard
A fine shot Bill, had to be in B.& W.
