Seriously? an operatic version? Where's Mama Cass or Eddie or someone?!
Bill Phillips: Nothing operatic about this choir! Now Mama Cass.....what a great singer!

Well, good for her, Bill
Bill Phillips: They were having a lot of fun. She may not have the greatest voice but she has more nerve than i have!
They're dancing behind her so she's getting through.
Bill Phillips: They were having a ball Mary.

In our last English lesson we read the following lovely song by Shakespeare, listened to a singer, and tried to sing:

IT was a lover and his lass,
With a hey, and a ho, and a hey nonino,
That o'er the green corn-field did pass,
In the spring time, the only pretty ring time,
When birds do sing, hey ding a ding, ding;
Sweet lovers love the spring.

Between the acres of the rye,
With a hey, and a ho, and a hey nonino,
These pretty country folks would lie,
In the spring time, the only pretty ring time,
When birds do sing, hey ding a ding, ding;
Sweet lovers love the spring.

This carol they began that hour,
With a hey, and a ho, and a hey nonino,
How that life was but a flower
In the spring time, the only pretty ring time,
When birds do sing, hey ding a ding, ding;
Sweet lovers love the spring.

And, therefore, take the present time
With a hey, and a ho, and a hey nonino,
For love is crown`d with the prime
In the spring time, the only pretty ring time,
When birds do sing, hey ding a ding, ding;
Sweet lovers love the spring.

Was she singing the original version or a classical one Bill?
Bill Phillips: Martha and the Vandellas style Richard. not as good but a valiant effort
Astrid was a very clever lady to work this one out, more than I could.
Bill Phillips: I think i prefer Martha and the Vandellas version to Van Halen though!
I guess the finale, judging by the backing band? Another good portrait, Bill smile
Bill Phillips: No their was another soloist as I recall and then the whole choir again. Considering they had only been formed 8 weeks earlier they did really well

She has obviously learnt to use her diaphragm to advantage.
Bill Phillips: Powerful set of lungs Richard
And a fine old tune it is...
Bill Phillips: A classic Larry!
Good for her!
Bill Phillips: She was having great fun I think
