The beautiful game 1/11

I am not a sports photographer...in fact according to some I am not any sort of photographer Cool. Anyway, this series is a look at football. Grass roots Sunday morning football, played for the love of playing it.

Good "action" shot here, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Stunning isn't it?

Do they play soccer in Malta and why does Michael want to go there??
Great shot BTW (don't listen to others wink )
Bill Phillips: If you lived anywhere near Blackpool you would too grin

I am all in favour of grass roots Sunday football: it is essential social interaction
Bill Phillips: It is the soul of the game

I hope they are all like this one, Bill
Bill Phillips: If you like this then so do I
Surely it's impossible to create a series of eleven about kicking a bag of wind about.
Bill Phillips: Chad managed at least double that on credit cards

Well I never! Welded nets, not woven nets - now I have seen everything!
Bill Phillips: Things move on Mike

When you told us that you had some footer photos upcoming Bill, I thought, Oh Dear here we go again, but NO, this is a wonderful picture - one of yer best. I hope the others live up to this opening high standard.
Bill Phillips: Unlikely Chad
Interesting shot.
Bill Phillips: Oooooooooo the dreaded interesting grin
Wonder what you are trying to catch Bill I'll let my mind wander.
Bill Phillips: I think you are wandering off totally
Art Bill, a good start to the beautiful game.
Bill Phillips: As an Exeter City supporter it will probably be all downhill from now on

Very nice Bill; I can feel the tension building up to this series grin
Bill Phillips: Oh.......................
I like the red and black and white and green, and the shadows, and the patterns. Is that enough?
Bill Phillips: It sounds enough for anyone Sheila
I like the picture but I've often wondered where this silly name "beautiful game" comes from, even crickets more beautiful than football and you know I'm not much of a fan of that.
Bill Phillips: Possibly Pele or the well known commentator (once of Jeux sans Frontiers) Stuart Hall. It seems to have stuck. Cricket is more my game but football at its best can be wonderful. Sadly most of the time it isn't!
Lovely opening image to a series which, I for one, will enjoy. I love football - from supporting my team in the Premiership, to watching Sunday League. (:o)
Bill Phillips: Who are your team Ros?
Great motion effect here Bill!
Bill Phillips: Thank you Richard
Nice DOF! Did your team win?!
Bill Phillips: Well not exactly. It was Jason's team playing a friendly against their first team. Jason played for his team in the first half and the first team in the second half!
Why would someone wrap netting around rugby posts?
Bill Phillips: Well it is Worcester

I like the way you have coloured some the netting red; very clever of it.
