Dang it, Eb!

Are you suggesting it might make a half-decent new sty?
Bill Phillips: That is the best use for it I have heard yet
What an unusual building!
Bill Phillips: This is the new library in Worcester Elizabeth. It is called the Hive and has divided opinion. It will house both the public and University library, an alleged first but, in fact, not so. The idea has been tried elsewhere and not worked. The building itself sits next to a Victorian viaduct and sticks out like a sore thumb. The metal tiles are claimed to be self cleaning. That should be a challenge to the local pigeons and Gulls. It is also said they will dull down, so they will look dull and tacky rather than bright and tacky. You may have gathered I do not like the building very much. You would be right

In that case I can reprise my comment of - "How appropriate: Mr Pig & all his works have divided opinion too!"
Bill Phillips: You could at least have tried to come up with something better when I have given you a second chance

not bad at all -rather impressive - and much light considering the big windows -I like this modern library!
Bill Phillips: Our Helen and Andy will be working there when it opens in July. I do not like the building I'm afraid Philine. I suspect it will quickly look shabby.
When it has shaken down and becomes weathered it 'll be fine ... You'll soon adjust Bill and learn to love it for its urban usuage.
Bill Phillips: I think that is only slightly more likely than me being the next Pope

Will people be walking around admiring this in years ahead Bill don't think so plain and drab.
Bill Phillips: I have a feeling it will become very tatty very quickly

Good colour, a well planned capper.
Bill Phillips: It certainly stands out
It certainly doesn't have immediate appeal to me Bill, and you say it doesn't fit its surroundings, they have built a new registry office on the prom' here, that has a similar finish to it, lots of dislike for that too.
Bill Phillips: This use of these metallic tiles seems to be the latest thing. Tacky is what comes to my mind
An interesting building Bill; it seems there is a focus on architecture from what I've seen today!
Bill Phillips: There is indeed Martin.
I suppose the council had consulted the consultants, who then consulted the other consultants, who then brought in a team of consultants, etc.etc., this is what they ended up with, and just think of all those old Nissan huts going spare on ex RAF airfields. Did I really write this drivel??
Bill Phillips: Hahahaha...this building has got to you Brian
It's strange, Bill - the idea of joint use libraries (usually public and school) has been around since the 19th century - it seems to crop up about once every 50 years and, after a little while, the idea is quietly abandoned, until the next time smile
Bill Phillips: They keep on telling us it is a first. mind you it will also house the public records office and various other things, so I suppose in that sense it probably is a first.
Quite a strange looking structure Bill!
Bill Phillips: It might have worked in the right place Richard but Worcester isn't the right place

Looks like its blending in nicely now!
Bill Phillips: Oh no it isn't
