food glorious food

We had our annual Lions Burns night supper and Quiz on Friday. Our team came second (which doesn't say a lot for the rest of them).

For many the highlight of the evening was neither the Haggis nor the quiz but the puddings made by the ladies (and one trifle made by a man)

The raffle raised over £150 for the Myriad centre in Worcester.

fine to see so many persons engaged in charity support! I remember to have seen the sir on the left side below - he is enjoying the trifle, hmmm - trifle is also one of my delicacies, but I noticed that is hardly offered in the English hotels where we stayed -much work as I know! My congratulation to the successful results of your night activities!
Bill Phillips: Dave loves his food, especially the puddings! I think he had about 6 different ones!

Bill Phillips: They were in heaven Elisabeth smile

Your noble activities deserve a knighthood Bill, I believe there is a spare one floating about right now.
Bill Phillips: I could have it for services to photography. Then they could have it back in exchange for a £6,000,000 pension fund.
I see the men were getting pushy and demanding to have their photo-fit pictures taken
Bill Phillips: The word locusts comes to mind richard

Not a kilt in sight! I trust in view of your diet you declined any offer of a pudding? I'm glad that some money was raised.
Bill Phillips: Actually I didn't have a pudding grin

The fellow in stripes would like to whack you upside the head.
Bill Phillips: my friend Peter wouldn't hurt a fly smile
Looks like a good night had by all Bill and well done on the money raised.

All for a good cause Bill! I like your collage, showing the different expressions of people smile
Bill Phillips: I usually take the camera to Lions events and post pictures on our website http://www.droitwichlions.com
Apart from the couple at the top, they're a morose-looking bunch, aren't they?
Bill Phillips: They are concentrating on the serious business of eating
We've eaten Haggis and thoroughly enjoyed it, just as we would have those delicious puddings on display there, naughty us.
Bill Phillips: I love Haggis. I managed to resist the puddings though
I bet a lot of people went there hoping they wouldn't be noticed smile
Bill Phillips: Fat chance of that!
There some looks of pure pleasure there, perhaps for the puddings. Great collage.
Bill Phillips: The puddings are always good!
All the Haggis bar one exploded for our Bowls Club Burns night. The resulting debris looked terrible but everyone enjoyed the taste.
I was in hysterics but had to restrain my mirth because Elaine was one of the cooks !
Bill Phillips: Hahaha! I love the stuff but I have never had one explode!

Eating their way into supporting those who need it.
Bill Phillips: We have a lot of enthusiastic eaters
For your lions work you should get a medal, for your photography you should be locked up.
Bill Phillips: True...well the second part anyway
It is a nice collection of culinary delights Bill... and the £150 went to a good cause....petersmile
Bill Phillips: It did. Myriad fulfils a need which is not well covered elsewhere. They do a fantastic job
I would make a beeline straight for the trifle, Bill, even if it were made by a man. Was the Quiz similar to those put on by various pubs?
Bill Phillips: It was but not too serious. I like trifle but resisted the sweets!

Wow!
Look at them going at that sweets selection, Bill! Did you demonstrate constraint?
Bill Phillips: I did indeed and never had a mouthful of pudding!
