Near enough!

Philine has a not dissimilar approach today, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Hers has greater subtlety
That's alright Bill - Bridges are fun too!!
Bill Phillips: Probably wasn't much of a boat anyway
Great collection of photos, made into a super collage.
Bill Phillips: Thank you Sheila

These drawbridges are poetry in action for me, Bill, so this is perfect for Boat Friday. I love the sequence.
Bill Phillips: I am glad you like them Ginnie as there must be a lot of them in The Netherlands

Hahaha...you are a PRIZE IDIOT!
Bill Phillips: True but there was no need to tell everybody what only you and I knew. I think this would have been an interesting Chad Series as the bridge went down inch by inch over a period of about 7 months until we were all subdued to a state of near brain death

It's certainly a different aspect!! Were you meant to be on the boat?
Bill Phillips: I was meant to be shopping

I like your series of pictures and these are actions I like to observe even if I have to wait for some time! Where we are? Not in Nederland, the country of drawbridges!
Bill Phillips: This is Gloucester docks Philine in the country of Shopping centres that used to be something else

smile I am not amused when I have to wait for a bridge, it happens too often, BUT I am always impressed with the technology this is needed to get that piece of road 'in the air'...
Great collage, thanks.

A series, well deserving of a knighthood.
Bill Phillips: Who an I to disagree?
Very modernist stuff!
Very modernist stuff!
Bill Phillips: Modernist is not usually applied to anything associated with me Tom
I can see why.
Bill Phillips: The bridge was in the way

That is a shame but still, don't beat yourself up over it. Interesting to see the stage by stage workings of this bridge.
Bill Phillips: I visualise in my mind how you would have done this. By next July the series would be complete

You missed the boat, but got great action from the bridge, they are really good put together like this smile
Bill Phillips: I would say dynamic but perhaps that is overdoing it

Next time
Bill Phillips: There may not be a next time
A nice set here Bill. Shame about the boat.
Bill Phillips: What boat?
If the barrier hadn't been there you could have done one of those car jumps across the bridge like you see in all the best adventure films.
Bill Phillips: Blimey Brian you are getting a bit carried away mate!
Thanks for sharing that with us Bill, and all in one go too
Bill Phillips: Just imagine if it had been Chad

Need to put these together into one of those kids' flick book things to give the impression of a film. Unless I'm in a hurry I'm happy to wait for the boat to pass through.
Bill Phillips: I am the same with railway crossings. Once in Yorkshire we were waiting at one and a Bulleid Pacific complete in tin can regalia came steaming through. It made my day!

Haahah at your response to Janet!
Bill Phillips: Well it would run for months!
