I must say Bill, those gates look hard to open. A nice picture.
Bill Phillips: Actually they are not as bad as they look Frances
Nice one Bill, like the motion effect. Lovely colors and a beautiful cloud filled sky! Did you use a polarizing filter?
Bill Phillips: No John i didn't although i have one in my bag it was very sharp autumn light

Lovely bit of colour in motion here, Bill.

It has a "painted" look.
Bill Phillips: The boat had been painted
Great twiddle!
Bill Phillips: :d Pleased you like it
Nice Boat Twiddle Bill... it looks like a lot of work to open such a small lock... do the Bitts' know anything about hydraulics lol....petersmile
Bill Phillips: We invented hydraulics smile

I hope they don't throw themselves into the water... I hope they know it is boat Friday... not 'jump-in Friday'
Great motion in this picture.
Bill Phillips: He knew what he was doing Lady is only one person!

They make a fine team, Bill, all color-coordinated like that. smile
Bill Phillips: It is only one person Ginnie but he can multi-task

oh, hard working while the others are enjoying to observe them hard working! The men on the left appears to be a company, dressed up in the same way. I like this picture very much -the canal, the white clouds, the scene, the twiddle- all!
Bill Phillips: Watching it these lock gates look quite easy to open. actually it is a better picture without the twiddlegrin
The bloke in red leaning on the post on the other side must be exhausted by watching the crazy antics of the boaters.

Smart work with the colour scheme
Bill Phillips: there is a lot of red and blue and it is not faked. Everything else is but not the colours

Mr Phillips takes his tripod with him...
Bill Phillips: Actually no but I took several pictures in a row and just extracted the bloke and the handle off the gate, blurred it a bit and ended up with this rubbish
Love those clouds. I'm confused about the rest.
Bill Phillips: I will explain later Mary

Really good motion effect and cleverly done, now I know there was only one. I like the darkened colours smile
Bill Phillips: I can't help thinking that the original pictures were better LOL! ?I have posted them for tomorrow!
Processing apart this explains exactly why I would never hire a narrow boat having to do this every few miles.
Bill Phillips: I would die of boredom Brian. Actually the lock thing is not probably as strenuous as it looks but it takes so long!
Nice boat twiddle day Bill. Good fun
Bill Phillips: Thanks Janet. i had fun doing it

"Many hands make the lock gates open quicker"..or whatever the proverb is smile Such simple pleasures on a lovely day.
Bill Phillips: Taking the pictures and having a nice stroll along the canal was very pleasurable. Toddling along in one of these doesn't really appeal to me

I like the idea behind this, time lapse without a tripod I expect and a combination of frames, but it makes a well balanced and effective image smile
Bill Phillips: About 10 pictures and i just extracted the bloke three times and motion blurred him.
V interesting result Bill!
Bill Phillips: Pointless but fun grin
