Brilliant video which sort of overshadows you fine picture Bill.
Bill Phillips: I originally had Jon and Vangellis "I'll find my way home" as the video

Yes, you are right- and I could happily join you with a book and a piece of the delicious strawberry tart if Chris is so kind to share his birthday cake! There are enough sitting places if the NT ladies are allowing us to sit down, but a don't see any rope.
Funny video - is this the quirky Penny, Chris's umpteenth friend lady?
Bill Phillips: It is indeed the legendary Penny. Chris is very popular with the ladies

Penny looks like I would imagine a typically English lady - previously I thought she were only Chris's fiction, but she is very real and created an English tart only for him- that is very lovely! How many ladies did surround Chris like a corona on your SC-meeting-day?
Bill Phillips: It was a multi coloured Madeira Cake Philine and the ladies were round Chris like bees round a honeypot. I don't know how he does it
Ealing Studios may well be in touch with you Mr Phillips.
Bill Phillips: To warn me off probably

Brilliant, Bill! A great sequence. It was good to meet you and hope you enjoyed the rest of the day, post cake!
Bill Phillips: It was good to meet you too and i thought your cake was a lovely idea. I think Chris was very chuffed!

p.s. I like the pic, too - it reminds me of when I used to work and stay in National Trust houses and pretend it was the life I was born to.
Bill Phillips: We are great National Trust visitors and rooms like this I would love to be the owner of!
The video is wonderful, Bill. I love how you caught all the expressions on Chris' face.
Bill Phillips: smile He wasn't expecting that cake!
A very grand room Bill, and the AV really captures the spirit of the moment.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Les. It was good to see you again yesterday

nice dark ambiance
Bill Phillips: Thank you Chantal
Looks like my kind of place!
Bill Phillips: Mine too Tom
Wonder why rooms from the past seem more civilised?
Bill Phillips: Perhaps people were more civilised
A very nice room to sit in Bill, very comfortable. I like the video, somehow I missed out on a slice of the cake.
Bill Phillips: I was too full after my fish and chips smile

LOL at Sir Tif.. he looks suitably impressed. I had (or probably still have somewhere) a radio like that shown in the main image.
Bill Phillips: He wasn't expecting it! I don't suppose that radio is all that old
Once I settled into this room, Bill, it would be very hard to get me to leave.

The pictorial sequence of Chris devouring Penny's homemade birthday cake is very entertaining, too. Thanks for posting it.
Bill Phillips: You and me booth Beverly. The cake eating had to be shown grin

Love the feel of relaxation Bill. The Birthday cake was amazing too. Great day had yet again.
Bill Phillips: It was indeed. Lovely to see you and, of course, it was lovely to have Astrid and Ginnie here. They came to my house en route but didn't know that was what was going to happen so got to meet Ange and Kathryn and Helen (who popped over from Worcester) They are such a lovely couple and I think everyone loves them to bits!

nice picture Bill but the videos were the things that made my day - that was quick work. Lovely to finally meet you!
Bill Phillips: Cheers Paul. it was good to meet you too. Let's hope we get to meet up agsin
Tiffo looks like the cat that got the cream, well done Bill.
Bill Phillips: Well he was I suppose
OK... the video tops the photo by a bit... what was inside that cake? Someone do tell.
Bill Phillips: It was a Madeira cake i believe and the colours were just food colours.

First of all, Bill, I LOVE this image (don't listen to whatever Chris says!). The lighting is just fabulous!

And secondly, the slideshow is just delightful. Penny really made Chris' day!
