Boston fruit mania

Now this was really interesting. The chap under the umbrella was auctioning fruit. a motley selection of bananas seemed to be the main attraction as I passed but I didn't get the feeling the Bostonians were exactly gripped.

Well that's enough of Boston for now

I had no clue you had a Boston over there, Bill...not to be confused with ours in the States, of course. smile The chap under the umbrella, NOT in the green shirt, looks like a cleric to me. HA!
Bill Phillips: Perhaps he is the local vicar doing a bit of moonlighting. We had our Boston first

And enough of fruit too? I wouldn't want you to have a banana fixation...
Bill Phillips: I had some very nice Victoria plums whilst at the cricket the other day supplied by my friend Antony.

Were you watching the great Trescothwick of Somerset in action Bill?
Bill Phillips: I saw him get 50 before we left at the tea interval. It was effortless class in action. He went on to score 200 yesterday!

Looks a bit like an American Pastor doing some bible bashing - wish I hadn't read the bit about a banana auction, how prosaic!
Bill Phillips: He does. i thought that was what was going on as I came up behind him. then I saw the motley selection of fruit!

Yes some old fruits at the auction. Fruiting away in a proper manner.

Bill Phillips: Boston is only a townsmile

Sometimes the fruit or fish sellers (famous are the fish sellers in Hamburg, Fishmarket early in the morning!) on the market are adorning their auctions with some funny, obscene, eloquent words - and the people are enjoying more their rhetorics than the food - bananas could be an appropriate theme?
Bill Phillips: Market traders can be very entertaining. This chap, sadly, was not

I would pass him by, I really dislike bananas! grin
Bill Phillips: I enjoy a banana now and then
Well, I have a banana every morning with my breakfast but I've never had to bid for it. Like the expression on the face of the chap in pink, Bill.
Bill Phillips: I think he sums up how exciting this auction was
You took the precaution of pointing your camera at the back of the big bloke in the middle, not the front I see Bill. Good thinking.
Bill Phillips: I may be daft Brian but I am not suicidal
I like the compo between his head and the umbrella over him..! smile
Bill Phillips: Thank you. the whole scene was very odd
There seems to be an orderly queue though, but I suppose that is just conditioning smile
