A room with a view...and a window to make you stop, stare and think about history...or not! lol
Bill Phillips: We have got an awful lot of history in this country, not so sure about our future though grin

It a good'un too, with that vase of outdoors soaking up the light.
Bill Phillips: Got some serious photosynthesising to do Ray
You have a fine collection of very interesting windows, Sir. This one, particularly so.
Bill Phillips: Thank you Beverly. I am glad someone likes my collectionsmile
Great play with light and shadow!
Bill Phillips: Thanks Elizabeth. I learnt about shadow from Blackdog's pictures

This window is rather like a number of windows in the same place. They will let in a lot of light during a bright day
Bill Phillips: Sigh.......................

very lovely and atmospheric - the slight sepia toning may enhance the old-fashioned look.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Philine, this was rather a nice window i thought

I like the photo, are there chains or lead light on it
Bill Phillips: They were stained glass panels suspended on chains in front of the leaded window
Seem to have got the full set of 'coats of arms'
Bill Phillips: If i had a coat of arms it would be two lenses rampant over a box of second hand books

I have always liked coats of arms, Bill. I love when they are displayed with pride like this, especially for the sun to highlight. Good even in B&W, which is the amazement of it.
Bill Phillips: There are very strict rules about a coat of arms and books on heraldry are fascinating

Please tell me this isn't going to turn into a Chad-like catseye series.... wink This one has interest with the coats of arms.

Actually, now I remember, I do have some window shots myself.. perhaps in a week or so.
Bill Phillips: I get bored too quickly to do that. I had considered doing a collage of every flower picture i have on my computer, maybe I will do a series of every flower picture, should last about 30 years
Good idea for a series that works well in b&w
Bill Phillips: I expect i shall do some more sometime
this is an awesome photo. The sepia works very well on the subject, as the lighting is great too
Bill Phillips: Well that is very nice Chantal. Thank you

Even blacker than Blackdog! Love the pool of light on the windowsill.
Bill Phillips: The wood glows as only wood can when it has been polished for a couple of hundred years or so.
I confess old Blackie has been an inspiration...

This beats Tiff's little piece of glass.
Bill Phillips: Almost anything would beat that feeble effort

You can see life through different windows.
Bill Phillips: For some people all of life they see is from their window.

A theme indeed but I see the Tifflets have let you come down from the tower and spend some time in the state rooms. Nicely balanced in tone.
Bill Phillips: And tomorrow i will be as free as a bird as you will see

This is really good, I love the detail in the coats of arms and the tones smile
Bill Phillips: Thanks Linda. Pleased you like it
I like this one Bill, those coats of arms are really interesting.
Bill Phillips: They are indeed Brian.
Very cool photo.
Bill Phillips: Thank you very much
very skilful use of light and shadow, good shot!
Bill Phillips: Thanks very much Sesan
