I can think of three things:

Dreary contrast

Slightly out of focus

I think of early childhood memories when we fetched the milk, skimmed milk in the forties, of course, from the shop or -later- fresh cowmilk from the farmer during our holidays in Tyrol ...the milk cans looked a bit different but similar- and the white I would always call 'milkwhite'.
Your fine picture reminds me also of the big proper Victorian kitchens I saw in NT Lanhydrock House in Cornwall last year.
Bill Phillips: Yes there are some fine kitchens in NT properties. Llanhydrock is a wonderful place and I must go again one day

...erm...sometimes we don't have to add text to a great picture.
Is the black one full of salt?
Bill Phillips: this one doesn't qualify Lady P. I don't know if it contains salt. Stanley would have known
It's nice that you have shut up for once [grin]
Bill Phillips: and only once Mr Trim. Sadly my namesake never shuts up grin
I can't think of anything to say either.
Bill Phillips: Then we shall share a moment of companionable silence Mary smile
Well Bill, they are a fine arrangement anyway smile
Bill Phillips: I don't normally approve of even numbered compositions Pam, but rules are there to be broken grin

RATINGS BOOSTER COMMENT

I made a mistake:it's worse than I originally said
Bill Phillips: Now you are just being unpleasant and I will be forced to sulk
Nice old fashioned enamelware, these must be older than you Bill, and hopefully me!
Bill Phillips: I suspect they are considerably older than either of us Briangrin
How abot "Tea time in an Old English Pub" it's a great B&W photo Bill...petersmile
Bill Phillips: Or an old English Kitchen Peter. with a great big fire burning in the range and toasted English Muffinsgrin
Nor can I, except that it is a good still life.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Tom. mind you if they were still how come i didn't get them in focus grin

Probably best left unsaid, then, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Least said soonest mended
