Bits and doings 1

Oddments and corners culled from visits to National trust properties.

My computer at home is dead! May ot be able to comment or reply much

Boyle's law states that, at a constant temperature the pressure of a gas is inversely proportional to its volume. The smaller the space the more pressuried it is. Well that seems reasonable enough. Trouble is he then goes on to spoil it by saying that it is only approximately true of real gases, and completely true only of "ideal" or "perfect" gases which are a hypothetical concept. So what a load of old cobblers that is

They do not look like vintage boots, Bill.
Bill Phillips: I am no expert on boot dating Ray.
I could never get the hang of Boyle's Law, or anyone else's for that matter, so this comments on the law perfectly. Well paired up Bill.
Bill Phillips: Beyond me totally Les.

LOL at Vintage, because I'm sure he's right. HA!

That's a fine contraption for hanging boots, gas or no gas, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Simple..unlike Boyle's law....there used to be a TV programme called Burke's Law, and the main Character was called Amos Burke as I recall, A Burke....hehehe

I think there is some truth in Boyle's Law... in Holland we have the same structure to hang boots and 'klompen'....
Love the composition.
Bill Phillips: I love the word Klompen, much nicer than clogstongue
This should help you Bill and make things as clear as neat oxygen:

Rather stylish boots, nice of the NT to adopt them, good to know my subscription is being well used smile
Bill Phillips: I think they spend the money quite well on the whole, unlike the government who can waste it in shedloads by the second
It looks like these boots don't need the cobblers! smile
Bill Phillips: My grandfather was a cobbler

Yes, and when you ignite compressed gas it will take on its original volume, which is frightening to behold.

I am not sure what you are gassing on about, but those are just slightly used boots, judging by the heels.
Bill Phillips: I won't try it then Louis.
I think you need more sleep.
Bill Phillips: Probably Mary
Quite a handy device isn't it. Hope you get back on-line quickly Bill. I can't get my 60+ head around the science bit.
Bill Phillips: I had left an SD card in the slot and it stopped the computer from booting up. Why i have no idea!

At least the boots don't need an old cobbler just yet. I can remember doing something at school to do with Boyle's Law; can't recall what exactly.

I hope your computer gets sorted quickly otherwise I can recommended an iMac.
Bill Phillips: Actually my old Dell has been very reliable. i found out what the problem was. I had left an SD card in the slot and it stopped it booting up!
Great boots Bill....your caption on Boyle's Law is most interesting....also the biggest bunch of bull that i have ever heard!!!....petersmile
