Gloucester Docks again

We come here failry regularly to shop at the outlet centre. I am not fond of shopping but have had a number of bargains and at least there are plenty of pictures to be had. This is a straightforward colour picture which would possibly make a jigsaw puzzle picture.

Nice lines. What a pity the bloke with the stick couldn't have been featured more prominently.
Bill Phillips: I liked him where he was Graemegrin

The Master inhabits his proper home - Choccieboxland!
Bill Phillips: AHHHH Comfort zonesmile
Yeh Bill that old guy would have made a great picture ... you could have bought him a beer as well .
Bill Phillips: I don't go buying total strangers beers...I don't buy people I know beers come to think of it

Yes, you are right- an interesting place, so many details can be discovered - what a sweet boat's name "Annie's Song" !(Where are anniedog and ...? ) and what a rare, spiky, horny iron- rusty 'sculpture' on the right site?
Bill Phillips: A rare sculpture indeed Philine. Actually I quite like it. Last I heard the dogs were having internet connection problems!

What's that weird pointy thing? Beautiful colors
Bill Phillips: Apparently it is to impale prisoners on who escape from the nearby Gloucester Prison...or it could just be an abstract sculpturegrin

Lovely spot Bill, beautifully captured. Think the old guy is in the right spot to take your eye into the picture.
Bill Phillips: Cheers aussie. I thought that too
Much better than Trimbos efforts at a jigsaw.
Bill Phillips: LOL!! Trimbo does chocciebox
An impressive photograph with that perspective Bill.
Bill Phillips: Thank you Stanley
It's very, very pretty, Bill. I'm with you on the dislike of shopping but this seems like a great place to be while your wife takes care of that.
Bill Phillips: I did actually buy a pair of shoes, but that was more than enough for me!
I see the spike on which they impale escapees from Gloucester gaol is still there.
Bill Phillips: Oh...so THAT's what it's forgrin I actually had to visit Gloucester jail some years ago to do with work. Just walking through with doors being locked and unlocked behind me was really quite frightening! I was rather glad when I left!!

I have been to a shop in Swakopmund, Namibia where the husbands are invited to sit on a bench while waiting for shopping to get done. They can also order a beer.

Now I am thinking of a few benches (not provided by Tiff) over there by the Rusty Nail. A sidewalk tent with a beer squirt can complete the picture. That would be even better for the jigsaw
Bill Phillips: I think they have a very good idea in Namibia and it would work for me!
Beautiful photo of this interesting place Bill. Agree this would make for a great jigsaw puzzle, lots of patterns, shapes and stunning colors.
Bill Phillips: some friends of mine are keen jigsaw fans...i think they would enjoy it....she doesn't like puzzles with too much green!
Sculpture and an interesting sky add to the fun of the boats, and if it's boats, it must be Friday! Have a great weekend, Bill!
Bill Phillips: Lord knows what that rusty sculpture is supposed to be but i quite like it!
A very pleasant looking place for a stroll and a bit of shopping. Nice shot
Bill Phillips: sums it up perfectly Janet. And, of course, the magnificent Gloucester Cathedral is only a few hundred yards away
Another place I would like to visit one day. Enjoy your lunch with the family on Sunday, it sounds as if you will need a rest by then.
Bill Phillips: Worth a visit Brian. Only 45 minutes from us and the shops are quite good really. I am totally knackered!
what an idea, now that you mention it, it does look like so many other jigsaw puzzle images. love the skies in this one. great composition
Bill Phillips: Thanks Ayush. I used to have a bit of software that let you turn your pictures into a jigsaw on the computer and then you could do the puzzle....at least you never lost any pieces!
Lovely sky Bill. This looks like a very smart town
Bill Phillips: Gloucester is good in parts Pam. fine Cathedral
