A lovely picture (despite mono) with all the glittering reflections!
Yes, I admire your charity engagement- good wishes for you both on Friday! Philanthropy must be a typically English behaviour!

"Less busy working full time" - yes, you are right - and when Bill will be in retirement it could be quite 'biller' for him- we have a funny wordplay in German: Ruhe-stand (= rest state/ retirement) = Un-ruhe-stand (un- rest state/ no-retirement).
Bill Phillips: I am very fortunate Philine. I have had a good life with a wonderful family. It is nice to have the chance to give something back.

I know what you mean, Bill. Retirement nearly inundates me! Perfect image for your life right now. Carry on and rest over the weekend!
Bill Phillips: We will be at the shop tomorrow and Friday morning. Then it is the Lions do on Friday night. Shop on Saturday. Tribe for Sunday lunch (big roast dinner) Going into work on Monday....Tuesday it had better be nice so I can potter in the garden gringringringrin

Hmmm.. now I'm not a great lover of b&w landscapes. I feel that this would look much better in colour - but I'm probably wrong. It's a strong composition, though.

Sometimes life gets in the way of photography.
Bill Phillips: Twas a bit of a dull day so colour a bit flat
Almost Constable country
Bill Phillips: I didn't see a police station

grin... I was less busy working... so then I better keep the job... smile
This is a fabulous B&W from the choccie box.
Good luck with the Dinner and Sale!!!!
Bill Phillips: Haha! Really Ginnie is working harder than you are smile Thanks Lady P
This is a very clever photograph Bill, in fact I really do not know how you achieve such a high standard of work. I suspect you are really some sort of photography professional
Bill Phillips: Hahaha. I am far from a professional Stanley. I just like taking pictures and doing things with them on the computer.

It is what my long break taught me. Don't bargain on a good rest.

Great conversion. It looks like a lovely corner to sit down for a shot.
Bill Phillips: I only go to work now when they need a bit of extra help or someone is on holiday. I enjoy not being a slave to the job! The other things I do, I do because I enjoy them, I like being able to do them with Ange and it it good to have the opportunity to give something back. I have had a good life, a happy marriage and two wonderful daughters. I moan and groan about the world but really I am very contented!
I would love to see this in colour. It is gorgeous this way too.
Bill Phillips: It was rather a dull morning and in colour it looks a bit flat

Lovely mono. Work really does get in the way.
Bill Phillips: Actually now that i only work occasionally I quite enjoy going in and all the other stuff I enjoy because I don't have to do it!

I like it.After 42 years of full time work I have just dropped aday a week love part time
Bill Phillips: Smart move vintage. Life's too short to work all the time!
So much serenity...
Bill Phillips: Yes just a quiet country lane in Oxfordshire
This looks well in black and white
Bill Phillips: Thanks Martin. The morning was overcast and this was a bit flat in colour
I have no problem with you not visiting Bill you are working hard for a good cause....i like this B&W version even very much....petersmile
Bill Phillips: you are a gent! i'm printing off place cards for Friday at the moment, hoping the printer doesn't jam!
Good contrasty mono, Bill - lovely shot.

Nice rural scene
Bill Phillips: Oxfordshire has a lot of rural
You sound a very busy man Bill, it almost, but not quite, makes me feel guilty of having spent a lovely relaxing few days in Whitby.
Bill Phillips: Ah Whitby. Love the place and must go there again one of these days
