Choccie for Chad

There you are Chad. Don't say I never do anything you ask

Today is the Royal wedding and I hope it all goes well and they have a lovely day. Me, I am off to Oxfordshire to visit the home of the Mitford girls and see the church where Nancy Mitford is buried. Hopefully the roads will be quiet and there will be a pub somewhere without a television where lunch can be obtained.

Several shutterchancers have said they are coming and I look forward to seeing them

Too bad I won't be joining you, Bill, because I'd love to see you! However, I'm one who will be glued to my TV today. We Americans really ARE gluttons for this kind of thing. smile Guilty as charged. (I'm just glad I'm in Europe and can watch during a decent hour!)
Bill Phillips: Helen is coming over this morning and she and Kathryn will watch with Ange. I think they seem a very nice couple and I wish them well...I just don't want to watch!

Yes, I wish you all a lovely day!
---------------------------------
(As German I may be allowed to say: "The Mitford girls" are a little chapter/a bit of English history, too, with a bit reference to the royalty, but surely one of the suspect and questionable ones, and I would not like to visit their home and graves)
Bill Phillips: Nancy Mitford was a very good writer. The choice of husband for one sister and the choice of Hero for another leave a lot to be desired. There were a lot of the "great and good" in the 1930s whose political view would be repugnant to us now. From Henry Ford to Coco Channel, and not forgetting The Duke and Duchess of Windsor

Have great day, LOVE the picture, so that will keep Chad from complaining today.
.....and Bill, just pull the plug of the TV in the one pub you are going to eat.
Would have loved to join you, but duty calls... grin
Enjoy the day and please take some pics of the group!
Bill Phillips: I expect a picture or two will appear at some stagesmile
I would have liked to be there to meet up with you and others Bill. I really am unable to get away. Call it under the thumb if you wish.
Bill Phillips: gringrin Maybe one of the days you will be able to come
It looks good in colour as well Bill. We couldn't make today, we watched the wedding but not most of the before and after, besides which Maureen is baking a very special cake today, your lips are sealed by order. Hope you all had a good day.
Bill Phillips: We had a good day. Fear not i will not say a word

I hope you find that pub, but I think your chances may be very slim.
Bill Phillips: We found a very nice pub which although it had a big TV on we were able to avoid it!

It's better in Black and White.
Bill Phillips: So are you
Another nostalgic slice of the English countryside, and how apt for the Royal Nuptials, Bill. Btw, hope you have a great extended weekend!
Bill Phillips: I managed to avoid the wedding today. Ange and the girls watched it and said it was very good
Yes much better in black and white and I relayed, to Chad today, a personal experience that happened to me on this very same railway viaduct almost 50 years ago.
Bill Phillips: Well I'm damned!
Better in colour, definitely.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Graeme. I actually prefer the composition of this one
nice picture
Bill Phillips: Thank you very much
