Guess the weight of the cake

Ange and I are volunteers at our local Acorns Children's Hospice shop. On Saturday we had an "event" for Easter. We had a live Lionhead Rabbit with a guse the name of the rabbit competition for which the prize was a lovely basket with a toy rabbit and other bits. We also had a guess the weight of the cake competition and a competition where you had to answer a simple question to win a Hamper of goodies.

WE WON THE CAKE.

It weighs over 3kg and is a fruit cake. The diet was suspended on Sunday and I had 2 dirty great big slices Tongue out

Kathryn had made some gift baskets with a soft toy and a book and other bits which we sold, so it was a really good day.

We were well knackered Saturday night though!

Probably enough left for another couple of slices today, Bill.
Bill Phillips: There is a lot left despite giving some to Helen to take home. I had 3 slices yesterday and am determined not to have any more grin

This is an absolute disgrace: I insist you eat NOTHING WHATEVER for the rest of the week
Bill Phillips: I shall resume the path of the righteous with immediate effect. Have a garage full of books to sort out so will burn off a slice or two. Must go Ange is ready to sort
who was it that snearingly said ''Let them eatcake''
Bill Phillips: Probably Cherie Blair

You sorting books. Since we are involved in work for less fortunate children in various places, we are preparing for a book sale. Have been sorting books and trying to determine a sale strategy so that we can affix prices.
So once you got Ange going, just keep on serving her with tea (no milk and sugar, mind you)
Bill Phillips: I have my tea black but Ange has milktongue. We have been doing a monthly book sale with the lions for over 5 years now and we also look after the books at the Acorns Children's hospice shop. Some books we sell on Amazon...if they look a bit odd they might be worth a bob or two also textbooks. For our Lions book sale we sell everything at 50p as we get so many books donated and we don't have any overheads.
Good luck with your sale I hope you make loads of money

I reckon it weighs over 3kg.. do I now get a slice? Well done for your charity work; I'm sure it is appreciated by those in need of the charity's help.
Bill Phillips: There is plenty left!

This prize would cheer the hearts of anyone, Bill. Lucky you. smile It looks more like a pillow right now, which I'm sure you'd love to use after 2 slices.

I admire your charity work -in cooperation with your whole family! The cake (we would say 'Torte'wink looks wonderfully dressed up, too berautiful to be eaten up! But you did - and you have deserved that!
Bill Phillips: There is still a lot left but i must resist! Well I did have 3 slices yesterday and they weren't small onesgrin

We are laughing here out loud Bill... life is cruel, winning this cake is cruel...
However, sorting out books will do the trick, don't think about weight at all...
There is always the 1st of Mai to start again smile
Easter Cake it is... grin
Bill Phillips: I had 3 not small slices yesterday and there is still a lot left...but i will resist!!! Helen took some home and Jason likes cakegrin

Lovely
Bill Phillips: It was very tasty!!
It is certainly okay to stop the diet for cake once in a while. Good for you.
Bill Phillips: I had three big slices yesterday! No more, someone else will have to finish it!

You can't beat a good wedge of cake Bill. I would prefer yellow bears on the cake to chicks.
Bill Phillips: Well they didn't know i was going to win it. I had 3 good wedges and can confirm that you are correct Chad
well done!!!

chomp chomp all round!!
Bill Phillips: It is a very tasty cake~!
Good for you doing charity work Bill. You seem to lead a busy life, much like me.
Bill Phillips: Well i only work part time these days and I have been in Lions for over 25 years. Ange and i enjoy doing books and we enjoy helping at the Acorns shop. We are lucky that we are able to do so.
Well done for Saturday Bill, I knew you done the Lions but not the hospice work. Maureen does quite a bit for a hospice in Leicester. Sadly I ate the last slice of Caroline's wedding cake yesterday, it had bags of marzipan on, my favourite.
Bill Phillips: My trouble is I can eat far too much fruit cake and Marzipan! I have resisted after yesterday and luckily Jason loves fruit cake so he is gradually demolishing ittongue
Great job Bill winning the 3 kg cake....nice collage....you don't have to eat it allof the cake today....fruit cake lasts for months....box up a piece and send it to megrin....petersmile
Thoroughly deserved, Bill. Well done.
Three slices in a day!!!!! Tha'll go before your time, lad.
Cracking cake Bill!! I'm afraid I'd have to eat it all in order to guess the weight smile
Bill Phillips: I find fruit cake hard to resist.
