Had never imagined daffodils so lovely in B & W!
Bill Phillips: I have posted them in b&w before Jennie and I think they work quite well

After all those crazy 12-hour working days this week, Astrid does indeed get a long, 3-day weekend, Bill, so we're both in for a treat. SLEEP. REST. A good time for renewal! Thanks for your beautiful sentiment here today.
Bill Phillips: Well I hope the weather stays fine and you have a good one Ginnie

Thank you for this beautiful photo fitting this Good Friday (how is it possible that poor Astrid has to work today? - it is the holiest day for Christians indeed!) - the world is very quiet at these moments, no bells, no cars, no voices except the birds' ones, the clicks of my keyboard... all working seems to have stopped for some hours ...- the white gardens I saw last Sunday are especially impressive - and these daffodils/Narcissen in an extraordinary way!
Bill Phillips: A lot of people have to work on good Friday. I did last year as I recall.

I like the back lighting this very much. It shows the texture of the petals very much.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Alan. I had to tweak a bit to get any detail

The daffodills are called "Osterglocken"/Easterbells" in our language, a Christian symbol of the resurrection and the eternal life, today white, at Eastertime yellow -white or purely yellow...
Bill Phillips: I didn't know that Philine and my choice of flower was more appropriate than I imagined

Thank you Bill.

All white daffodils - haven't seen them before. Great find.
Bill Phillips: and with black stems too
It really does come over very well in B&W.Bill.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Brian. They do I think
I must say Bill this is a terrific picture. I love the light coming through the petals and the overall effect and focussing
Bill Phillips: Thank you kindly Stanley

"A lot of people have to work on good Friday." Yes, you are absolutely right: nurses, doctors, busdrivers etc., but I thought Good Friday were a public holiday in GB, Netherlands (once a strong calvinistic country) and otherwhere.
Last Sunday I really saw white daffodil petals with a gentle yellow bell in the middle.
Bill Phillips: It is a public holiday here although for many years in the West Midlands people worked Good Friday and had the Monday and Tuesday as holiday. This was primarily because of the car industry (whatever happened to that?) who didn't want to have two disrupted weeks, or so I was told
I really like them in B/W, lovely light and picture smile
Bill Phillips: They work well as a b&w subject I reckon Linda
I like the B/W use on daffodils, Bill. Very original.
