Severn Valley railway 2

This cheerful chap is my good friend Antony. We worked together for several years until a severe car accident forced him to take early retirement. He has been a volunteer on the SVR for many years and now is often seen behind bars (at last!!) manning the ticket office at Bewdley Station.

Excellent portrait, Bill.

How sad that the genuine light shades are fitted out with modern compact fluoro light sources...
Bill Phillips: The old style bulbs are not allowed anymore. We all have to use the low energy long life ones.

Yes, a very proper and trustable looking Sir- a fine portrait, and he appears to be happy to be photographed by his good friend Bill -I like that he wears a white rose in the buttonhole of his uniform!
Bill Phillips: Antony always does things in style Philine. I had lunch with him only on Wednesday and he was in fine form!

Who is behind bars? He or the public (you). Everything depends on the direction of viewing.
Bill Phillips: Very true Louis! I was the one with the camera though so i will claim preference!
Wonderful. "Have a nice day" is alive and kicking in Bewdley
Bill Phillips: But if he said it he would really mean it!
A very fine picture Bill and your friend (Antony) looks very happy indeed.
Bill Phillips: He's a very cheerful bloke!

Bill Phillips: He is quite happy in there. Thanks for stopping by and commenting
Difficult to image anyone being *this* cheerful behind bars, but his jolly disposition really makes this one a bundle of fun!
Bill Phillips: I think Antony would manage to be cheerful anywhere!
Clearly a mad former Midland Railways employee locked behind bars for his own safety - you were very brave to take the pic, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Hahaha!! I sent him a link to this picture so he might read thistongue
