Up on the Roof 17

Having gone up all the stairs to the top of Crowngate Car Park in Worcester to take pictures of the Hive, it seemed a shame not to see what else I could see. Being a generous person I will share what I saw with you

Gee, thanks, Bill...an old clock with flat batteries, and an ad in the form of a giant toothpick!

[grin]
Bill Phillips: You have no soul
Lovely cityscape!! I like the low contrast in tones
Bill Phillips: Thanks Marion. Needs plenty of black ink to print!

There is a modicum of old Worcester here in your shot: is that the Cathedral (one of my favourite btw) hiding back there?
Bill Phillips: It is Chris and i agree it is a beautiful building
Ten past ten ... time to clamber down and have a good cup of coffee. At least the dominant buildings dominate
Bill Phillips: That's what dominant buildings do

Why thank you Bill - I used to take a lot of townscapes like this as a teenager - they look so strange 30 years later. Amazing what changes and what stays the same.
Bill Phillips: I wish I had taken many more pictures of Droitwich when we first moved there over 30 years ago. It has changed so much

Those houses look vaguely menacing!
Bill Phillips: This is Worcester Ingrid. I always drive round with my car doors locked tongue
"Through a glass, darkly" it seems smile
Bill Phillips: Well I suppose that says it Tom
Has a classic feel of establishment, only the car gives a clue to the date. Nice shot.
Bill Phillips: Usually a good way of dating old pictures is to look at the cars!

Well, that's most kind of you.. we appreciate it. "My spire is bigger than your puny tower". "So it maybe, but I have time on my side".
Bill Phillips: and in the background the cathedral makes them both look puny!
Not the most exciting foreground but I see two churches and the Cathedral I presume behind.
Bill Phillips: Isn't meant to be exciting Brian, just a view of the city. Yes it is the cathedral and wouldn't it be a lovely view without all the rubbish in the foreground grin
This has a model village look to it Bill. I quiote like the contrast but not the nail looking object bottom right (yes, bottom right). No, I have changed my mind, I think it lends something quirky to the image.
Bill Phillips: I think it might be the top of a street light. I confess I hadn't even noticed it!
You have quite a view from up there on the roof, Bill. Yes, very generous of you to share it with us.
Bill Phillips: I'm all heart Beverly tongue
B/W really suits the scene, which highlights the churches.
Excuse my ignorance but what is the Hive smile
Bill Phillips: I refer you to my pictures of the 15th 16th and 17th of March 2011 smile
You've highlighted the canoeist in centre picture very well, Bill.
A lovely view of the city Bill and well captured in b&w.
