Retirement Package

Chris and his good friend Mrs Parminter visited the Clench Retirement complex in Rural Warwickshire at the weekend. They have become very concerned at the decline in Chris's neighbour Mr Evans. A lifetime indulgence in parsnip wine and an eccentric diet (based largely around sprouts and turkey twizzlers) have taken their toll.

Here they are examining the prospectus in the comfort of this fine Elizabethan building. Clearly they have not yet reached the page with the prices.

Chris, being the good & caring neighbour that he is, Bill, would never quibble about something so trifling as the cost. I'm sure he would insist on acquiring only the best accommodations for Mr. Evans.
Bill Phillips: You must know a different Chris grin

Oh, this is a sweet scene on the Elizabethan sofa in a lovely and confy living room (some drinking), and a fine twiddle! I have to smile, too -together with this couple and yourself!(I wonder that you were allowed to sit down?)
Bill Phillips: The chairs without thistles on them are allowed to be sat on.
Oh how I love Elizabethan buildings, but that is because I love the life and hostory around her
Bill Phillips: Perhaps you are a reincarnated Elizabethan Marion?

I am so glad that Chris is concerned about the wellbeing of Mr. Evans, no matter the costs....where will all the pictures go from the shed, I mean the pictures with the beautiful skies.
Bill Phillips: I will have the shed and the skies as a deposit for Mr Evans

Forgot to say... love the scene and the magazine grin
Bill Phillips: smile smile Thia is actually Coughton court
Planning for your dotage ... I'm impressed (I think) with a man who plans for the inevitable twenty five plus years ahead of time.
Bill Phillips: I am thinking of stockpiling paracetamol tablets and Whisky against the day I ever have to go into one of these places

It looks like a place they will allow Mr. Evans to maintain his parsnip wine habit. I'm sure Chris picked up on that immediately. I also like the rabbit ears on the settee. That's also a good sign about something or other. smile
Bill Phillips: I would have to be permanently drunk

You look delighted which concerns me. Are you pleased with the standard of accomodation or are you happy to be putting poor old Mr Evans away?
Bill Phillips: By you do you mean Tiffo? I am not in this picture
Help is near by should the shock be too great, a tray of fine tinctures of alcohol are within easy reach.
Bill Phillips: The price will soon wipe that smile off his face

I see the establishment has a fine range of dry sherries for the discerning palette - Mr Evans will feel right at home. I trust they will find a good home for his collection of skies?

Very good Bill ;o)
Bill Phillips: I get the shed and skies as a down payment

Can I put my name on the waiting list? Looks just my sort of place.
Bill Phillips: Be a bit quiet for you Ingrid...full of old buffers like Chris
They have liquor. That fact must not be missed.
Bill Phillips: And nor has it Mary. Mind you the Whisky decanter was empty

he is still laughing... until the price will hit him
Bill Phillips: Then he will need smelling salts to revive him
After seeing the prices Chris has decided that Mr Evans will now move in with him in the new garden shed Chris is having built in his back garden.
Bill Phillips: If Chris is building a garden shed Mr Evans will have been dead 20 years by the time it is finished

It looks to be a fine establishment for refined gentlemen - oh, and probably suitable for Bill, as well smile I spy a well stocked drinks trolley in the background. Should I ever have the misfortune to end in a real retirement home, I would like to see my remaining days through an alcoholic trance.
Bill Phillips: I am considering stockpiling both Whisky and paracetamol against such an eventuality
Very grand, remember to dress for dinner and not flash the bus pass. Excellent capturesmile
Bill Phillips: The bus pass is the only good thing to come from being over 60!
"Do you think we could afford that one darling?"
"Oh, I'm sure Lord Clench will give us preferential terms seeing as we worship the very ground he walks on."
Bill Phillips: I like your attitude Brian...you will get mate's rates
A very beautiful lounge and a very intresting couch which Chris and Mrs Parminter is seated in. Hope they will be able to help Mr Evans. A great capture.
Bill Phillips: Sadly Mr Evans is probably beyond help. Some would argue so is Chria
This looks a grand house Bill but I am confused by some of the comments.
Bill Phillips: Haha! This is a bit of silliness. I met up with Chris (Tiff) yesterday at Alcester and we went to Coughton Court. I just pretended they were looking at sending Mr Evans to a retirement home (Mr Evans features on Chris' blog quite regularly as does Mrs Parminter.

Coughton Court is a very fine Elizabethan House
lol nice one Billsmile
Bill Phillips: Cheers Tim
I reckon it's a con and that's your living room, Chris smile
Bill Phillips: That is not Chris' living room!
Haha, great capture Bill smile
