Tyntesfield Revealed 2

The building on the left that looks like a small cathedral, is, in fact, the chapel. It is truly magnificent inside. I will post some more pictures of this wonderful place later but I just had to show you these two. I just love this house!

Yes, an overwhelming view of a Victorian 'castle' - (I have to think of the "Drachenburg' above the Rhine or Neuschwanstein in Bavaria- the same century)) -I can understand your enthousiasm!
Bill Phillips: It is a fantasy building I guess but it is just wonderful!

Architecturally it's insane but it certainly has interest. Where there's guano there's glory!
Bill Phillips: Of course it is but it is also just wonderful.
Wow, an absolute stunner this place. I would love visit. Great shot
Bill Phillips: It is a great place to visit Marion. Now the scaffolding is down and more of the rooms are restored.

That looks like a huge cathedral building Bill. What is that small church like building on the right?
Bill Phillips: Ah! When i said left i meant right! I wonder who else will notice Mr smartypants?

Preferred the symmetry of yesterday's shot - reminds me a little of Cragside in Northumberlad - although that is even more insane.
Bill Phillips: This is the postcard "get it all in " version Mike
Looks like a lovely house, apart from the upkeep I would'nt say no smile Nice shot.
Bill Phillips: If I was filthy rich this would do me nicely!

Obviously built by someone with a grandiose imagination. Bet it would be wonderful to explore.
Bill Phillips: i think the architect spent most of his time building churches.
A lovely capture Bill. The house is just amazingly beautiful it looks like a castle in a fairy tale. A very sharp image well done.
Bill Phillips: Thank you Laurette. It does have a fairy tale quality

Looks like the chapel has been dosing on growth hormone, Bill.
Bill Phillips: The chapel (which is actually on the right!) is like a miniature cathedral!
Could convert to b/w and with some of your twiddles could make this very mysterious and filmic
Bill Phillips: I could indeed...and may well do so!

It looks quite gothic and more than a touch of folly to it. Very impressive, though and a good capture.
Bill Phillips: If you like Victorian Gothic then this is about as good as it gets Alan

Truly wonderful looking buildings Bill
Bill Phillips: I couldn't agree more vintage
They certainly don't have far to travel for Sunday service, Bill. I am smitten by this home and would love to see some interior shots.
Bill Phillips: I did post some interior pictures last year Beverly. I have quite a few and i will send you some
We are in Minehead in July but I think this is some way away from us in the other side of Somerset, but it does look a very impressive place.
Bill Phillips: It is a few miles from the Gordano turn off on the M5 Brian so perhaps one to visit en route
A bit far from Sheffield for a day trip, unfortunately!
Bill Phillips: Have a weekend break in Bristol...a fine city...and visit Tyntesfield at the same time
What a fabulous building. Lovely shot Bill
Bill Phillips: worth a trip up from Cornwall Janet.
This is a sight for sore eyes Bill, it must have cost its owner a pretty packet to build
Bill Phillips: I am sure it did but he had made a fortune so could afford it. The house was nearly lost until the National trust stepped in and with the benefit of a huge lottery grant have been both repairing and restoring it
Quite a wonderful architecture Bill. I like the light!
Bill Phillips: It is indeed Richard and it was a lovely spring morning too!
I love it with you,its one of those places you really want to see inside, your image shows all the lovely detail smile
Bill Phillips: The inside is great and will get even better as more rooms are restored. It is a real gem
Wow - that's really grand for a "chapel"!
Bill Phillips: It is indeed, they were a very religious family!
Simply amazing
Bill Phillips: It is Martin
