Rous Lench 2

The Rous chapel (botom right) is  modern, and was built to receive the monuments of the Rous family removed from the chancel at the recent restoration. They include a monument to Edward Rous of Rous Lench, who died in 1611, his wife Mary (Haselrigg), who died in 1580, three daughters and one son, with coloured effigies and an inscription within an elaborately carved cartouche, above which appear the arms: sable two bars engrailed argent; crest, a Moor's head.

Notice the light through the window top right. This is from the Millennium window which I will show you later

Nice piece of documentation Bill.
Bill Phillips: i had thought eventually of producing a book of Worcestershire Churches and giving it to people I know as a Christmas present. That could get me off a few Christmas card lists!

Another fine collage, another beautiful little jewel - and we have to detect so many details in this little church! I find particularly interesting the grave-monument (bottom right)- and I am full of expectation to see the Milennium window with its spiritual light! The glass window (Announciation to Mary, top left) is beautiful, too! These churches are still working- and I must assume that a lot of English people are still active members of the Anglican Church today- that is fine!
Bill Phillips: The window is on Sunday and is specially for you
" I must assume that a lot of English people are still active members of the Anglican Church today"

I think you should replace the words 'lot of' with 'few', Philine.
Bill Phillips: You are right.
As usual with yoru church collages, lots of interest in the different areas. Nicely presented, Bill.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Alan.
Superb collage Bill. Well done!
Bill Phillips: Thanks very much Richard
This is an attrcative chapel Bill and once again you have put a good collage together of it.

A brilliant collage Bill. Just like Ive had a conducted tour. Well done.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Ron, that's the idea of these collages to give a flavour of the place
these types of montage are catching on
nice one again!
Cheers
Rob
Bill Phillips: I find it a useful way of showing these sorts of pictures without a great long series that would bore everybody to death...you still awake Rob?smile
Super selection of images Bill, the colours are so powerful yet soft at the same time
Bill Phillips: Thanks Pam, i think that sums it up better than I could have!

I can almost smell the old wood.
Bill Phillips: And a lovely smell it is too Mary
I love this collage too. It gives such a nice overview of the inside. It makes you wanting to go visiting this one, despites I'm not such a big fan of churches.
Bill Phillips: Thank you. I try to give an overview rather than bore everyone to death with loads of pictures
