Hidcote flowers 1

If you change this to a black background just look and see what happens to the top right hand corner.

This is Hidcote. A stunningly beautiful garden. This is a simple little picture and I just liked the combination of colours. So I hope you like it too.

Someone sure had fun landscaping this arrangement, Bill!
Bill Phillips: Hidcote is the work of Lawrence Johnston, who designed and built the gardens over a period of 40 years from 1907. Influenced by the Arts and crafts movement the garden is a series of "rooms" and at every turn you see something different. Johnston was entirely self taught as a gardener!

Fixing the corner is a simple cloning job smile The does look like a wonderful garden. The sliver of trail invites one to explore. Nicely done!
Bill Phillips: Easily fixed indeed Martin but I was fascinated by how much more obvious it becomes against a black background. This is a fantastic garden, one of my favourites.

Lots of flowers thus lots of colour I like it Bill
Bill Phillips: Hidcote is great It will probably feature again later in the year!
A nice simple untwiddled shot here Bill: very pleasing
Bill Phillips: Well I like to show that I can take a proper picturetongue
Its a fabulous place to visit .. so many different 'rooms' within the grounds.
richard
Bill Phillips: Absolutely Richard, and Lawrence Johnston taught himself about gardening!!

I like the way you have focused on the red flowers and the softness of the flowers surrounding them. I think it looks better on the black background - it seems to intensify the colours. The top right corner is easily cloned out. There you are - sorted!
Ingrid
Bill Phillips: I agree about the background but put in on the white because of the difference. I would have cloned out the white and re-loaded it but I thought it was interesting. My default background is white as I found i tended not to try a picture on a white background when the default was black, whereas I almost always try it on black when it's white! How odd is that?
beautiful lighting and colours bill
Bill Phillips: Thank you kindly Doc

Lovely - a flowerbed I always associate with england for some reason. The black background does make a most interesting change to the picture.
Bill Phillips: We do love our herbaceous borders Louis!

...simple....who is talking about simple, this is just a great capture, love the flowers, love your point of view, very well seen, great job, a joy for the eye.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Astrid. Hidcote is a joy for the eye in every direction. I think you would like it!

Very nice photo Bill, with nice colours and nice contrasts on the leaves. That tree hiding in the background just adds to the "country garden" feel.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Sheila. It is a wonderful garden
Very pleasant image to look at Bill. I like the colours combination too!
Bill Phillips: I have a friend who never mixes colours in her garden. It's a blue area or a white area. I love this mixed up look, nature isn't regimented!

A veritable feast of colour, Bill.

I look at this photograph, and it lifts my spirit and cheers me up immediately.

Lovely
Bill Phillips: Well that's more than good enough for me!

Yep, like this a lot.. a lovely dash of beautiful colours.
Bill Phillips: Thanks very much Alan
Beautiful flower bed shot Bill although I might have trimmed a bit of the OOF forground out. I'm going to Google and see where Hidcote is, I believe you've mentioned it before.
Bill Phillips: Hmm...yes maybe a little off the bottom. Hidcote is in Gloucestershire near Chipping Camden. If you haven't been I am sure you would love it!

Looks good to me Bill, interesting effect changing the background, question is why, I'm sticking to the visual cortex interpretation thingy. ;-) ;-)
Bill Phillips: Sounds reasonable to me Philtongue
The lighting really pops the colours of the flowers, nice one.
I will have to add this to my wish list of visits.
Bill Phillips: Hidcote is a must see
