There is a notice on a stand. Maybe it explains what fire buckets are and what they are for..

I have a hatred of fire buckets. When I was in basic training in the army and we were a few seconds late for a lecture, our sergeant gave us an evening punishment, which was to scrape all of the red paint off of a fire buckets using pen knives. Then when they were devoid of all red paint, we had to paint them red again.
Bill Phillips: Character building. I would not have lasted 5 minutes in the army
