Birmingham

This is the view coming out of the Museumand Art Gallery. To the left is the classically designed Birmingham Town Hall built in the 1830s. When we first lived in Birmingham it was the venue for both classical and Rock concerts. It was totally renovated about 10 years ago

The pointy thing in the middle is the Chamberlain memorial and the area around it is being redeveloped. Into what I have no idea

To the right is the Library

I like the framing a lot, Bill.
Bill Phillips: I am most gratified that you do Ray
Very nice view!
This is my favorite version of this song, so far!
Bill Phillips: In that case I have left the best for last!

Un mélange de l'ancien et du moderne.
Bill Phillips: Very much so Martine although the ancient is largely Victorian

Birmingham has turned itself into a must-visit destination. I never thought I'd ever say that..
Bill Phillips: I will be interested to see it when finished
Ahhh. So you used to live there, Bill. I had no idea. No wonder you're interested in how it has evolved!
Bill Phillips: I moved to Birmingham with my job shortly before Ange and I got married. We lived there for 5 years until Kathryn was born. If we had been able to find a house we liked (we only had 2 bedrooms in our first house) in Birmingham when we decided to move we might still be living there!

You are showing Birmingham at its best Bill and it surely deserves that.
Bill Phillips: The changes to the centre should make Brum a very modern city. I think it will be a vast improvement on the 70s city We lived in

Never been to Birmingham but it looks like a wonderful city with lots and lots to see. Love this point of view.
Bill Phillips: It often overlooked that it is our second city...not Manchester!!

I fully intend to go there, Bill
Bill Phillips: The centre is much changed and it can only be better because it was horrible before

Ignoring the building site, it is a fine view with those classical columns.
Bill Phillips: The old town hall is a very nice building and even better inside
Magnifique prise de vue ...
Je ne connais pas du tout ce pays ..
Bill Phillips: Birmingham is our second largest city situated in the middle of England.

Oh, so the developers are building paradise here in B'ham.
Bill Phillips: There is a Paradise Circus in Birmingham Louis....it is not well named
I know where this is but our visit was three years ago and that whole area was then 'as was', I wonder what they are going to do.
Bill Phillips: Well I don't think they will remove the Chamberlain memorial so what they are going to put around it I have no idea.....I might have to visit next year and find out Brian!!
The Paradise sign makes me think it is very funny. Lovin' your music series.
Bill Phillips: There is a Paradise circus in Birmingham which, if you are trying to drive through Birmingham is somewhat ironically named. This is the last of the Killing the blues series....which was your favourite?

The word 'Paradise' might be a bit exaggerated.
