This is well worth a visit. It is an English Heritage site and they do guided tours and demonstrations. In it's heyday it produced 250000 bobbins a week for the spinning and weaving industry. It is in Cumbria near Newby Bridge. So bob in and have a look :)

Well composed. I'm no expert on chimneys, but that one seems quite tall for the structure.
Bill Phillips: Thanks Red Pen. I guess the chimney is connected to the fact that the machinery was, at one time, steam powered. (Originally by water wheel later by electric motor).
This has a nice "old" feel to it that matches the wagon wheel. Nicely done. On the chimney, is that a chimney for a bread oven? I've seen those here in Germany too and believe they are part of bread ovens. But I am not chimney expert either! Where is a chimney expert when you need one?
Bill Phillips: Thanks Kathryn. Not bread. The chimney may be connected with the steam engine that used to power the machinery here.
Interesting treatment Bill with the b/w sky and the rest in colour. It certainly does add that old-fashioned look.
Ingrid
Bill Phillips: Thanks Ingrid. Because the sky was a uniform blue and the clouds a uniform white, when I did a black and white layer and merged it with the colour layer it went to black and white with very little help from me!
A good crisp picture Bill. I have driven past the entrance to this many times but never went in to see it, will have to do so next time. Good finish to the picture as well the combination of B&W and Colour is one of my favourite techniques and you have prodcued a cracker here.
Bill Phillips: Thanks very much Les. This place is well worth a visit.
